Water drains out quickly, does not slide around but I added stretchy cord to secure it to the standard seat to prevent loss in case of a spill. Great comfort measure for a long day in the boat. It does make a sit-on-top kayak more comfortable. Slides forward a little, needs an adjustment every 10 minutes or so. Would help if there was some way to secure it. Can't speak to how long it will last, but seems fairly sturdy.
