The stand functions, but it is supposed to have you slide the top "U" shape onto the two upward facing tubes and connect with snaps that pop through the pre-drilled holes. But the U is not bent symmetrically, so one end is 1/2" longer than the other, so of course you can't make both snaps connect and when hammered to get it to work, the whole stand is slightly tilted. I am amending my review given the fact that after the seller noted my problem, they offered me a full refund for my trouble (which I declined given I could bend it to work).

This stand holds my bike(s) very well and couldn't be happier. Assembly was a snap and it was ready to go in about 10 minutes. Usually, a bike is held better when you put back wheel in first. If placing the front wheel in first, it's equally as sturdy. That was a surprising discovery. My road bike and gravel bike have 700c wheels. Another review said his 29" bike wouldn't fit. Since 700c and 29" are the same, I don't know why this occurred unless the 29er tires were too wide.

After a ride, the first thing I want to do is park the bike and strip off my gear. This steel bike stand makes things easy when I am noticeably drained of energy. I roll the front or rear tire into it, and that is all. It has four rubber feet caps at the base for stability, and there is no need for me lift or suspend a wheel/frame. Ensure that your kid's or mountain bike is 29" or smaller.

I got this for my daughters bike. fairly simple to build. However, the big "u" piece takes some good hammering to get onto the other pieces. it also doesn't seem all that sturdy. with a big heavy bike, i'm not sure it would hold it up.
