I have two 800 lumen rechargeable bike headlights that I have been using for my family’s bikes and my e-scooter. This BCOVOL bike light is smaller, brighter (3000 lumens), and has a higher-capacity battery. Very impressive. It is compact enough to be easily pocketable (in case I park and want to take my light with me). Consequently, this light has become my new daily-driver for my e-scooter. The taillight is also bright, and it allows me to easily attach it to either my bike seat-post, or to my helmet. The headlight charges by USB-C. A cable is included. The power-button flashes red while charging and turns green when fully charged. The taillight charges by micro-USB. (I wish that it was also USB-C.) A micro-USB cable is included. It flashes red while charging and glows red when fully charged. The USB ports of both lights have tethered silicone covers for waterproofing. The headlight has 3 brightness modes and 2 flashing modes. The brightest setting is as bright as I could want. After turning it back on, it resumes its previous mode. The mount holds tight. The head of the mount can be loosened with a Philips head screwdriver, rotated to the desired angle, and then locked down. (There are teeth that hold the carousel in place.) For me, this is an excellent feature because it allows me to install the mount 180-degrees “backwards” (from normal) such that the tail of the mount doesn’t get in the way of my e-scooter’s accelerator lever. The headlight clips securely to the mount and is easy to remove. The taillight has 3 brightness levels and 3 (full-brightness) flashing modes. It is bright enough that it can even be seen in direct sunlight (even on the dimmest setting). Excellent. The taillight comes with 2 silicone “rubber bands” (one spare) that most people will wrap around a bike seat-post. I linked both of the “rubber bands” so that I can mount the taillight through the holes in my helmet. Very nice. Consequently, it has become my new helmet light. The USB charging port is on the back of the taillight, so the taillight has to be removed in order to charge it. The headlight has a USB-A port so that it can be used as a 6400 mAh power bank. It doesn’t support fast-charging protocols. That’s a nice bonus feature that could come in handy. This headlight and taillight are perfect for my needs, and have become my new daily drivers. I wish that the taillight charged by USB-C and that its charging-port were on the bottom so that it didn’t need to be removed in order to be charged. Those relatively minor nits might cost a half-star ding on my rating if Amazon would let me do half-stars. But this is a really great set so I’m rounding up to 5-stars.

The main headlight in this kit appears to be well made. I like the solid metal enclosure of the the main light, which appears to be resistant to moisture. Both the front and back lights are easy to mount -- just seconds required and no tools. While the mounting or the main light is easy to use, it is all plastic -- I wish it was a more solid metal design on par with the actual front light. That said, the included mount appears to be functional enough and easy to quickly swap from one bike to another if needed. The main light has multiple brightness levels to choose from and solid beam or various flash patterns; the rear light also has various flash patterns. Both lights have rechargeable lithium batteries, a welcome upgrade from traditional disposables. One thing that is a little odd to me is that the front light and rear light require different USB charging cables -- the front light charges with a USB C interface while the rear light charges with a micro USB interface. Both cables are provided but it seems odd to me that they aren't both the same type; not really a big deal to me but a noticeable feature. No charger is provided but the lights charged fine with my own 5v 2amp charger. Overall I like the quality of the build and I think it is a good front and back bike light set. Recommended, with the caveat that one needs to keep both USB C and Micro cable types around for recharging.

Mounted the headlight onto my scooter and let me tell you, this thing puts out some serious light on high! It will Illuminate the entire path in front of you but has no focus, so be mindful of blinding drivers if used on road or near vehicular traffic. The front light charges relatively quickly and seems to hold it's charge for a good amount of hours of operation on low (I found this brightness best personally for output and power balance). The mounting mechanism at first concerned me about how well it would hold the light in place but this thing is solid and doesn't bounce around or vibrate at all when mounted. It's also exceptionally easy to remove - just press down and slide back the exposed end. It uses a typical USB C charging cable to function, but be aware of the charging values - I typically match input amp hours to chargers so that there is no chance of overcharging (although this seemed to have circuitry to cut down the charging rate according to my tester). A solid light and good value for your money, the rear I did not have much experience with but I personally do not like the rubber mounting straps - the rubber degrades and eventually breaks over time, and replacements can be impossible. Also uses a USB micro charging port for the rear light, so make sure you still have one lying around. Outside of that, functionality wise the rear light will get the job done for safety.
