Description

The Torin BIG RED T30806 hydraulic long ram jack has a single piston pump and clevis base that is designed for residential and commercial use. Fits most garage/shop cranes, engine hoists, and more. The lifting range is 24-7/16" to 44-1/8" with a 8 ton (16,000 lb) load capacity. This long ram jack is constructed of heavy-duty steel with a heat-treated chrome cylinder for added strength. It features a high-quality glide-action pressure pump designed to lift with minimal muscle and effort and has an integrated built-in oil-bypass and overload valve that protects the hydraulic system from extending beyond its travel limits. Hydraulics are powered with a high-quality oil, which offers better corrosion resistance and high/low temperature flexibility, allowing the unit to operate at temperatures between 40 degrees Fahrenheit and 105 degrees Fahrenheit. The piston ram is treated and polished to resist skiving and utilizes a Y-style polyurethane sealing ring with backup ring, preventing the load from falling slowly. The clevis style base provides added versatility. After a thorough chemical wash to ensure a long-lasting finish and to help prevent rust, it's treated with a powder-coated, lead-free paint, providing a durable coating which is oil, grease, and dirt-resistant for easy cleanup. This unit is 100% factory tested for reliability and safety to meet and comply with ASME PASE safety standards..

The engine hoist purchased from Amazon with the included eight ton hydraulic ram would leak down 1in every hr with roughly 75 lb attached to it. This new Torin Big Red did not leak down at all within 1 hour with the same weight applied to it. The double action works, but not great, it gives you more distance on the push-up than push down. Overall great quality. Box was damaged but I've come accustomed to damage boxes from Amazon, especially if the items are heavy. ... show more

This product has a low price point, and the quality reflects it. After using the 8 ton jack to lift a 0.5 ton engine, the seals all started leaking. They leaked so bad that it couldn't lift the load, then the pumping mechanism came loose and popped out. I called for warranty and not only do they not stand behind the product, they offer a seal kit that you have to install... unfortunately the kit wasn't designed for the failure my lift had, so they said "sorry we cannot help you". Do yourself a favor and buy from Harbor Freight. I feel odd saying this but the quality is better and at least they stand behind their products with a no hassle return. ... show more

I was saved by this ram. I have a Powerbuilt engine crane which was given to me several years back. In 2018, I purchased this ram as a back up because the original had been used numerous times and at over 15 years old it was just a matter of time before it would leak. Today was the day. In the middle of pulling a motor the original leaked. Was able to drop the load safely and in 5 minutes the Big Red was installed and we were able to complete the removal and replacement without any further issues. Works perfectly after sitting for five years. Not sure how long it will last but it did save the day. For now it will stay in place and I’ll rebuild the original to become the back-up. I purchased it for less than fifty dollars and was delivered without any issue. Even at the current price it’s a good deal in my opinion. ... show more

Just installed this 8-Ton Long Ram Hydraulic Cylinder in the Torin 2-Ton Engine Crane I purchased in 2008. The original Hydraulic Cylinder is shown in the first picture and the newly purchased one is shown in the second picture. I am confident that the new Cylinder will work with my Engine Crane.
