Description

The Torin BIG RED T92003B hydraulic bottle jack is designed for residential and commercial use. It is industrial welded and engineered using a drop forged alloyed steel construction that is ideal for quality and durability. The inner/outer welded structure and steel construction will keep your bottle jack leak-free and give it an overall stronger build. The fully welded structure is designed for hard-hitting commercial use, making large loads easy to lift. A wide, rugged base adds stability and strength. The lifting range is 9-1/2" to 17-3/4" with a 20 ton (40,000 lb) capacity. It features a high-quality glide- action pressure pump designed to lift with minimal muscle and effort and has an integrated built-in oil-bypass and overload valve that protects the hydraulic system from extending beyond its travel limits. Hydraulics are powered with a high-quality oil, which offers better corrosion resistance and high/low temperature flexibility, allowing the unit to operate at temperatures between 40 degrees Fahrenheit and 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Piston ram utilizes a Y-style polyurethane sealing ring with backup ring, preventing the load from falling slowly. This powerful bottle jack is ideal for lifting cars, trucks, SUVs, farm vehicles, heavy-duty machinery and industrial equipment. It can also be used for military applications, agricultural and industrial environments where the equipment receives heavier abuse. This unit is 100% factory tested for reliability and safety to meet and comply with ASME PASE safety standards. Includes a limited 1 year manufacturer warranty.

I used the Torin Hydraulic Welded Bottle Jack (20 Ton/40,000 lb capacity) to level my 14x32 shed, and I have to say, it worked incredibly well! This jack is a powerhouse. This is a good bottle jack - it does the job it advertises. I have two other Torin bottle jacks, and knew what to expect. I was going to buy a second 12 ton Torin jack, but when I saw this one temporarily drop to $29.99, free shipping, I bought this one instead. Note that these Torin jacks look a lot like jacks sold under other badges / names, and that is because many are made in the same factory and sold under different names.... I use this to jack up my RV (which is 16K pounds), and don't mind using a 20 ton to make sure I have "overkill". When I have to work under the RV without a tire on, and have the luxury of being in my driveway at home, I tend to have a lot of redundancy for safety measures - for instance, if I take a tire off one side, I use two bottle jacks and two jack stands under the frame in various locations to make 100% sure there will be no failure. Of course, I also chock the other wheels. I don't want to trust any one, or even two, components for failure when my life depends on it. When I am travelling, to save on weight and portability, I only carry the 12 ton with jack stands, and carry a block of wood or two for stability of the jack in case I am on gravel, dirt, etc. I am extra careful until I get a jack stand or two under it on the road, I don't have the luxury of concrete, multiple jacks on the road..... but it is still enough. One thing to be careful of on these Torin jacks (and other bottle jacks) - the pressure release screw on the bottom - it does not have a "stop" when you unscrew it, and it will allow you to keep turning it until hydraulic fluid comes leaking out. I know because when I asked my son to release the pressure and lower the jack, I looked over and saw he over loosened the nut on the bottom, and fluid was leaking out. So be aware that it only needs a couple of turns to release pressure, and it can be "over-loosened" to where fluid will leak. One thing that could be improved - a longer handle to jack up the car - the current handle is very short and Torin could provide an extra length or two so you don't have to reach under the car to jack it up. Used to lift a 12x24 shed which had slid off the cement blocks it was original built on. Held up well while we dug around and added new supports underneath. Lowering worked as expected. Everyone makes these same Jack's. The red one is a low cost 6 ton from another manufacturer, I've had forever, and it works fine. The new 20 ton jack doesn't have the handle hardware that keeps the handle together, so it's not great that way. I have not found that any of these jack's are bled when you get them. Other than the 20 ton jack being super slow, it's price was fair and it is welded as described. ... show more

    • Big red biceps lifts things

Lifted a fully loaded P30 Step Van with ease to change and repair tires, didn't even break a sweat. Only about 10,000 lbs, so small potatoes for this, but I've used other bottle jacks in the past to lift similar loads and have had much less desirable outcomes. The clearance on this was low enough to wedge into position, but it lifted high enough to remove the monster wheels & tires. The jacking motion is extremely efficient, (keep it PG here people, lol), which is to say there's little setback, meaning every bit of raising & lowering of the arm translated into moving the height of the jack. Although I secured my step van with big beefy jack stands, I did first test this by keeping the weight on this jack while having the height of the jack stands slightly lower, just to see if this big brute would hold 10k in weight without losing any height, and it consistently held for over an hour without the slightest drop in elevation. Things were looking good. Welds were all adequate on mine. The integrated handle is a must, since this thing is a porker, but that's why you want it. The paint finish showed no signs of marring even after sliding it on asphalt a few times from one side of the rig to the other. Overall build quality was stout and impressive. To top it all off, when it came time to lower this, none of the usual bottle jack pitfalls occurred, which is to say it didn't seize up when it came time to drop down, and it continued to lower completely without me having to stand on it to lower the rest of way, (as is the case for many of the bigger bottle jacks). I took a chance on this, knowing full well I could've went to Harbor Freight and got their 20 ton for the same price, or even lower if I'd have waited for a coupon, but after thoroughly scrutinizing their 20 ton bottle jacks in store, I'm completely convinced this is a better made piece of equipment. Overall, I'm completely thrilled to have bought this and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone, (unless of course they didn't need a bottle jack). ... show more
