    • Finally. Precision hand drilled pilot holes.
I do a bit of antique furniture repair, and on many antique pieces, I have to add new nails or screws, and tiny pilot holes are essential to avoid splitting the wood. I'm pretty decent with my hand drill, but occasionally get off perpendicular. This tool solves that problem.

    • Its works.
It is hard and difficult to drill a hole through a pipe that is centered all the way through and also square to the pipe. This guide works. Very easy to use. I wish would had one of these guides years ago. Buy it. You will like it.

    • Used to put clevis pin holes on bolts
I needed 1/4"-20 bolts with holes near the threaded end for clevis pins. None were available other than by special order (very expensive). I used the drill guide and clamped a 1/4"-20 x 2.5" bolt into the "V" groove. I drilled the bolt shaft out with the 3/32" guide hole-EXCELLENT! This device is small but very sturdy and well made.     • Small, Clever and Very Well Built!

This tool is surprisingly small, but extremely well built. I had searched around and looked up the specs and was still surprised by it's size. I thought I should post a picture to show it. It's effectively a drill press you can fit in your pocket! This thing is SOLID! I can see this easily outlasting me. Other's have mentioned that it tends to move around if you don't clamp it down, and I can see where clamping it will certainly make it more stable. I've followed another reviewers' suggestion and used a center punch where I want the hole and then pushed the drill bit all the way through and centered it in advance before bringing the guide down into contact with the work surface. Then I can hold it steady enough with my hand, at least while working with wood. Here are the dimensions from the manufacture's website since this Amazon page is a bit sparse: LENGTH 3 5/8" WIDTH 5/8" HEIGHT 1/2" WEIGHT Less than 1 LB (I measure it to be 3.75oz / 107g) I wish they offered a combo pack with this one and the standard size one that goes from 1/8" to 3/8" - I would have bought both. ... show more

    • Truly Invaluable
This is definitely an invaluable tool for those of us without the space for a drill press. Also, even if you own a drill press, some project pieces cannot be easily positioned where you may need to drill. I really just needed something for small guitar modding projects and the mini drill guide. Now Im saving time and effort. Before I would try to drill straight into guitar bodies or necks by hand. And when I would screw up, I'd then have to fill the hole, wait a day for the glue to dry, and try again. Now thats all changed :) ... show more

    • Unbelievably handy.
Should be in every auto mechanic's tool box. Unbelievably handy. If I can get permission from wifey, I would like to give some out to a couple of my buddies, both sizes. You can even catch a goof up with this devise. Say you spend 30 minutes lining up and center punching a spot on a pipe. Then you place this over the spot and let the drill bit center itself in the dent. You may find the spot is not 90 degree straight up or 90 degree straight out to the side. You can place a Transfer Punch that fits the same way as a drill bit in one of these guide holes. You can then put a level (or your smart phones angle finder) against the transfer punch to make sure you are drilling and or threading a hole exactly where you want it. I don't see any way it can get anything less then 5 stars. ... show more

    • Excellent tool wish I had these years ago
Absolutely love this tool. I work aircraft maintenance and I need to drill perfectly straight holes. This has made the task simple. The case that come with it keeps it protected jostling around in my tool bag. Wonderful design. I’m gonna order every size.
