I would give them a 5 star but lately they seem to stop writing like they have an air bubble or dry out. Even when positioned upright they don’t go back to normal. I have used this version for years, don’t know what changed.

The BIC Gelocity Quick Dry pens are absolutely fabulous for left-handed writers because the ink dries so quickly it's practically smudge-proofalicious. I can scribble away at full speed without smearing the ink to kingdom come, and that alone makes them worth every cent. They're incredibly smooth to write with, producing crisp, consistent blue lines without skipping or scratching. I’ve been using these BIC Gel-ocity pens for a few weeks now for daily note-taking, journaling, and general office work, and they’ve been absolute rockstars. What I love most is how effortlessly they write. The 0.7mm medium point glides across paper without any scratching or skipping, and the color output (black, blue, and red) is crisp and vibrant. The quick-dry ink is the real highlight here. As a fast writer, I usually struggle with gel ink smudging, but these dry almost instantly! BIC pens have their origin in the 1950s. I have my origin in the 1940s, so I’ve used a lot of pens, many of them BIC. They have many competitors now, but I’ve always associated the name BIC with dependability at a low price. Gel pens have been around for a while but, to be honest, I wasn’t aware of them until fairly recently. These red gel pens don’t disappoint. The white curvy line on the barrel isn’t just for decoration; it’s slightly raised to improve the grip. It glides across the paper when I’m writing in cursive. It’s a pleasure to use. I see nothing negative about these pens. I’ve checked and found the price of $1.10 per pen is not unreasonable. It is unreasonable, though, that I would ever need 30 pens. So, nearly all of these are destined for a local school. I hope teachers will enjoy writing “A’s” on all their students’ work. ... show more

I am usually a Uniball Signo Micro 207 fan, am picky about my handwriting instruments, and I was very pleased with the Bic Gelocity. The point gives a bold, smooth line with no skips, and I really found it glides across the page very well. The ink did not smudge or run, nor did it bleed, which is very helpful if you're using two sides of a sheet of paper. I prefer blue ink for my pens so other than saying, the blue ink in these pens looks good, I haven't anything else to offer on that point. The barrel of the pen felt comfortable in my hand and well balanced. The taper where the fingertips rest when it's held is well constructed with ridged rubber. As someone with rheumatoid arthritis that can make handwriting challenging, I greatly appreciate these details. They help my handwriting look better during extended periods of writing or during my flare-ups than it otherwise would. The box has 30 pens, and I tend to go through gel pens at a pretty decent clip, but I think these will last me for a good bit. Given the price, I think there's value there. I'm glad I chose these, and it's nice to know that I have another brand of gel pen in case Uniball ever stops making the Signo. Recommended. ... show more
