I think I am on my 2nd or 3rd box of these pens. I always make sure to have a box ready to go in our homeschool hutch. They are so smooth when writing on paper and each pen lasts for awhile unless my daughter is using them to draw with…which is why I always have extra on hand. I like that they are a bit wider instead of being so skinny, makes holding them and using them to write quite comfortable. They’ve been quite useful for my daughter to use while learning cursive because of how well the ink flows out, but not easily smeared. ... show more

It's a good pen, but flows a good bit more than I can keep up with, very thick lines. Dries fairly quick. I hope they have a smaller tip version.

These BIC Gel-ocity Gel Pens are my current favorite writing pen. I especially like the gel-type pens for the clear, dark, and distinctive ink that presents a great impression. I like the 7mm point for a distinctive, but not too heavy, stroke. I previously used to use another brand gel pen which I thought were optimum. I used them for a number of years until I unexpectedly ran short one day, and scrambled to find and buy one of these BIC units when I couldn't find my original brand. I was quite surprised to find that the BIC unit outperformed my previous favorite, and I've continued to use these ever since. I usually order a dozen at a time but I go through them steadily. The price on these seems to vary, since there has been times when I needed to order but was surprised that the price was quite expensive, and other times when the price was quite reasonable. My last order was for a little less than a buck a pen, and I feel that's a very fair price for the performance I get. These pens last quite a while with just intermittent use, but if you write steadily they will deplete the ink more quickly than your normal ballpoint pen. That seems to be consistent with all gel pens, because all three brands that I have used share that same characteristic. I believe the ink is a "thicker" product, and this design pen lays down more of it--that's the reason the appearance is so dark and distinctive.     • Out for left handers who still love gel

I love the look & ease of gel writing but I can rarely find even non-gel ink pens that don’t smudge when writing since I’m left handed. Not only is smudging annoying but also the giant “ink bruise” that gets left on the outside of my hand & is always very difficult to scrub off. I decided to give these a try & they are AMAZING!! The ink dries almost instantaneously & even after writing hard & fast my pages have almost zero smudging & my hand is clean. Just frigging fantastic! I also like the all over grip on these pens. If I had any downside to mention would be that they are not meant for that new stone paper. It takes literal minutes to dry which is a definite no for lefty’s. I took a stone notebook to my BLS class & basically every single page was illegible due to the most extreme smudging I have literally ever experienced. However I think any type of gel pen isn’t really meant for stone paper, even for rightys. But that’s ok I have no problem going back to usual recycled paper :) ... show more
