This will take some time to put together! A drill and correct bit makes the job faster! The steps can be mounted on either side but you'll have to use your brain. The instructions are mediocre.

The bed itself is great, I would say five stars for the bed. I think the quality it pretty good for the price, it's sturdy, and nice to look at. My boys love it! The removal of a star comes from building it. What. A. Pain. In. The. Tush! Took 2 people 5 hours and several strings of curse words. Highly suggest buying hex bits before assembling because the Allen wrench bites big ones. Also, really take your time and study the diagrams or you'll have to take apart one side of the bed because you didn't line up your holes correctly. Not saying that happened to me or anything, cough cough. The hardware can get kind of confusing too so a little extra attention is needed to sort those before you get started. ... show more

I wanted a sturdy, yet reasonably priced wooden (not metal) bunk bed with trundle for when my grandchildren sleep over. This is very sturdy and good quality for the price. Very pleased and it went together relatively easy. You won't be disappointed!

I noticed these reviews cover several bed models. I bought the low loft full bed/desk/dresser/bookshelf. I was already prepared for the hours of assembly required for this type of furniture. All of the pieces were as tedious and confusing as expected but we got through it. Until the dresser. The instructions have you assemble the entire thing first, before the drawers. You are even instructed to put the back on it. Then you’re instructed to fully assemble the drawers and slide them in. Only….they will not slide in because the rails are the safety type that will not allow a drawer to pull all the way out (to prevent someone from pulling them completely out and risk dropping them). This meant the drawers can not slide in through the front because they stop about five inches in due to the safety rail. There is literally no way to get them in except (I discovered after hours of cursing and crying) to remove the back of the dresser, remove the front of each drawer and slide them in through the back, then attaching the front of each drawer. I figured this out after a lot of trial and error and baffled shrugs by housemates who tried to help. So….ignore the instructions, as they are mostly backwards. Put the frame together, do not install the back yet. Partially assemble the drawers, saving the front piece for last AFTER you slide the drawer in through the back. THEN you can attach the front of each drawer, put the back piece of the dresser on and silently thank me for saving you hours of torture. You’re welcome. The bed itself looks really cool, is comfortable and space-saving - definitely assemble the bed part first so that you can rest up before tackling the #%?!?!!! dresser. ... show more

Easy to put together, even with two kids helping. Drawers slide well and rather trundle bed rolls out good even on carpet. We did add extra wheels on the trundle to help.

THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE NOT VERY CLEAR , AS LONG AS YOU LOOK AT THE HOLES TO MAKE SURE WHICH DIRECTION THEY GO WILL GO ALOT SMOOTHER , LIKE I MENTIONED THERE LACK OF DETAILS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS -- PLAN ON A FEW HOURS TO PUT TOGETHER AND YOU WILL NEED AND EXTRA HAND ON SOME PARTS. --- 2 PEOPLE WILL MAKE ALOT EASIER. ---- ONCE AGAIN PAY ATTENTION TO ALL SIDES WHEN PUTTING TOGETHER SO YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE BACK APART AND TURN AROUND..
