  • anxiety and art
thrilling story, intriguing on every beautifully drawn page

  • Phenomenal masterpiece. Bravo — and thank you.
I just read the entire book starting as soon as I came in the house with it. This is a work of art and I hope it is submitted for a Hugo. The perspective from the story perspective is absolutely incredible. The art is mesmerizing. The layout of the book, itself, is an absolute masterpiece. I was stunned by the use of black as both negative space and acute pointillism. In a world in which too many people lay the burden of “overcoming” and successfully overpowering their perpetrator/attacker, this work exquisitely sheds knowledge and understanding on the dark recesses of some human minds and actions. Bravo — and thank you. ... show more

  • Highly Recommended!
The beautifully stark and intricate illustrations of Nina Bunjevac's BEZIMENA artfully and viscerally evoke, provoke, and evolve contrapuntally against its alternately strange and disturbing content.

  • Beautiful artwork - book extremely damaged due to poor shipping
The artwork is hauntingly beautiful and the content profoundly disturbing, building a visceral sense of dread and anxiety in the reader/observer before finally twisting the knife in the most painfully unexpected way at it's culmination. This story is on a starkly different level than typical graphic horror novels. It is, without a doubt, truly horrific. I would agree with other reviews and give the story/artwork itself 4-5 stars (but I would give a TW for sexual violence to those considering reading) To my dismay, this book was thrown in a large box with a single strand of air packs on top for shipping (that weren't even inflated! just a flat strip of un-inflated plastic bags!). As a result it suffered a particularly deep scratch, countless more scuffs and scrapes all over, as well as terribly smashed corners. Additionally, it arrived fresh out of the box with very noticeable greasy blotches (??) on the cover as well as a few pages. A couple scuffs from shipment is one thing, but all together this is just excessive. Unfortunately I am entirely unwilling to overlook the combination of all of these physical issues, and they are the reason for my low rating. I purchased this book brand-new and was not expecting it to arrive in such poor condition. ... show more
