Rug is very nice and the price is great for the size. My only complaint was that I tried for days to get the creases out of the rug with no success. It was folded for shipping and this left square creases all over the rug. I cleaned it and that didn’t help. I wet it and put it outside in the 107 degree Texas heat, while I constantly pulled and tried to smooth it out. That helped a bit, but it’s still not flat. Placed weight on it to no avail. It was a gift for my son and daughter in laws new home, and I had to head back to PA, so I couldn’t mess with it any more. They were just happy to have the rug. Hopefully once the kitchen table I got them arrives, it will be less noticeable. ... show more

This is the best rug ever. It’s not very thick or soft so if that’s what you’re looking for you may want to think again. But for the size and style with colors.. you can’t beat it. I love it. I’ve received 5+ compliments already.

I got the 5x7 size rug and can say it is fairly thin, I expected it to be at least double the thickness. The nonslip backing is fairly good. It holds it in place fairly well, but still move little by little as you walk back and forth over it. Not bad though. It’s been easy to keep it clean as you can wash it in the washer. Just make sure your washer can handle large bulky and heavy items. I’d probably recommend to take to a laundromat and use their machines instead of yours. It doesn’t lay completely flat and I believe it’s because of how thin the rug is. It’s not easy to see but if you look closely at the pictures I shared you can see spots where the rug is lifted or bubbled like if something is under it. Even after a month of stepping on it and my dogs laying on it you came still see some of the creases from how it was folded and packaged. I do like the worn look as it gives it kind of an antique look to it. Overall I’m happy and for the price I can’t fault it more then I have. ... show more

Considerations: No OEKO-TEX certified components Strong and durable Machine washable Soil Repellent Wear resilient Middleweight Tight weave Low in fuzz No odors Durable Price No synthetic rubber backing to help prevent sliding. How this arrived. In a sturdy, rectangular, non-retail, non-descript, brown cardboard package measuring 12½” x 15” x 5½” and weighing near 8½ pounds, that’s heavy. What’s inside? The Persian style rug was folded into a rectangle – and tied-up with a strip of saranwrap like plastic, while being placed inside a heavy duty, non-sealed, clear plastic trash kind of bag. [I prefer that this would have been shrink-wrapped, rather than an open package. Reason being, real or imagined, I think the integrity of the rug is better protected in shrink-wrapped, rather than an open bag.] The rug itself weighs in at about 7¾ pounds. Dimensions 5’ x 7’ x 5/64ths of an inch. That is about 1/3rd of a quarter of an inch or about half the thickness of an eighth of an inch. How would I describe its thickness in layman’s term, it’s paper thin. Describe the rug Dusty, plus it has a faded Persian style rug topside, and underneath it feels like a waxy backing. Any labels on the rug? None. There is not a single label on this rug. No brand name. No country of origin. No label declaring what this is made of nothing. I would describe this as a mass productid generic rug. I don’t like that, at the very least, there should have been a label declaring its make-up and what it’s made of. What’s it feels like? Thin, and course topside. Extremely low pile. On the bottom-side, the rug’s backing feels waxy, possibly to create slip resistance. I did not care for the black in color stain already on the back of this rug, the size of a baseball. Any care instructions? Not a thing. Looks? Pleasing. History Persian rugs historically originated from Persia. Oriental rugs originated elsewhere, such as Turkey. Made where? This rug was made in China and bears no OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 label, which I consider an important label that identifies that every component that makes up this rug was tested for harmful substances, which allows us confidence that the rug represents high product safety. Again, no label was associate with this. I do not like that. What drew my attention? Size, color, and price. But the root reason that drew my attention to this rug was that I liked the stunning traditional good looks of this faded Oriental rug, with its vintage charm and coloring. I needed a rug to fill a gap from where another throw rug had been. A much smaller one. Although there is no accounting for my taste, I was not disappointed when this arrived. The design appealed to us from the start and the colors presented were much more pleasing in real life that what was pictured. I found this low pile, low fuzz, rug to be coarse, yet presenting us with a sense, from its weave, of being durable and leaving us with a feeling it was well made from its texture, which I like the feel on my feet. The listing suggested this could be machine washed. I might do that in a commercial washer, only. The backing is the traditional rug weave, versus a synthetic rubber backing. When I selected this, I believed there may be an instance that this could be slippery, depending on the flooring, however, traditional Oriental rugs do not have backing, so, being careful is important or placing something down under the rug may help alleviate concerns about slipping and sliding. I did not think it was too slippery on my hard surface flooring. Further, I do not care for any synthetic backing, as I have found that to breakdown over time and/or stains the floor. Value? After I received this, I looked at the listing and noticed the price had dropped considerably. I hope my thoughts had a bit of helpful information. ... show more
