    • NICE SIZE !! and convertible/versatile
FIRST - it's a puzzle to put together. My husband after several frustrating minutes threw up his arms and was convinced they didn't send the correct parts or enough and gave up.... Calmer minds (mine) took over and it is challenging but I had to think opposite of what my brain was telling me on how to put it together. My mind kept wanting to build horizontally around like a box BUT NO!! Only work on one side at a time (two pieces) or it will drive you crazy! Start with a side triangle piece in front of your body pointing up. Fold one of the long pieces vertically (up and over) to match the shape of the piece in front of you. The spring loaded grips are great but doesn't make the cage sturdy. Just when you think you have one piece secured another separates. Two hands can do it but four hands are so much better. Once you have erected the individual separate sides... then merge them together. ZIP TIES ARE A LIFE SAVER but don't place any on until ALL spring loaded grips line up. CONVERTIBLE/VERSATILE - my chicks are still in their brooder and I only have 9 chicks so they don't need the full coop yet. So I reduced the coop to half the size with just a few zip ties (unclipped and separate the two sides then just remove one of the long roof racks. Place the triangle piece in place to close off the open side and now it looks more like a box). This model doesn't come with roof door as pictured. But the price if great for what you get and if you need bigger buy two or more and zip tie together ! The shape is up to you; straight and long, side by side or "L" shape by removing a side door. I have two old travel shopping carts with wheels in garage that I'll be stripping down and using them to make the run moveable. ... show more

    • Pretty easy to assemble
I saw a YouTube video saying that this pen was super difficult to assemble and would fall apart if not held together by 154 zip ties these folks used. My experience was very different...took my husband and i about 10 minutes to set up and needed no zipties or anything else to hold it together. We have been using it as a little grow-out run for some of our "teenage" chickens and it has worked flawlessly. And, with the size and configuration that this is, you can easily throw a few hay bales around it for warmth if the temps drop. These are great for separating Roosters from the Hens when new chicks hatch or just using as a single chicken tractor. Very sturdy. Good to have to temporarily house new animals (Puppy, kitten, duck in my case new hen). Great to have just in case. Doesn't take up much room when folded up and not in use. ... show more

We wanted our cat to have outside time safely, but I didn't want to spend a fortune. I wouldn't put a stronger animal in this cage though. It's ok, but the doors really don't align very well and I secured some parts with zip ties. I needed something with an enclosed roof, not just a tarp cover. Sure enough, when we put her in, she climbed right up and tried to get out, but couldn't. I was able to put a cat perch in there with zip ties, covered it with my own tarp, used a water bowl meant for a cage, hung toys from the support bar, etc. So in that way this cage is very versatile. It's also very roomy for her. I took 1 star off for lack of instructions and aggravation and 1 for quality. Chipped paint and the doors are not great, but it is o.k., I just expected a bit better. This is a 2 person assembly job to me. If you don't join the correct sides together, it won't work. There should be one door on the very right long end and the other door on the very left long opposite end of the cage, with 3rd door on cages end. I hope that helps a bit.     • Good quality for the price
I needed something to add to my chicken coop to give my chickens more space while we were out of town. This did the trick. I was able to set it up by myself but it would have been easier with a helper. It's held together with tension - hooks on springs that clamp pieces together. That didn't seem secure enough to me so I added zip ties to hold all of the pieces together because I need to keep out racoons, etc. There are two doors that swing sideways; both of these have good closures and seem sturdy. One door, on the end, swings up. I have that door attached to my coop. This door is MUCH less sturdy than the others. It isn't permanently attached, it just has very shallow hooks that hang over one of the bars of the cage. Right now I have it secured with small carabiners but I need to get some pliers and change the shape of the hooks. This door falls off the bars every 2-3 times I open it without the carabiners. That's my biggest complaint, other than this door, I'm really pleased. You'll need to do something to secure the bottom if you have predators around like I do. I'm using a combination of concrete pavers and fencing spread along the ground, zip tied to the cage. The corner stakes that are included are long and thin, and bend easily. I'm using them, but I'm not depending on them to keep the cage in place. I added some perches and covered the entire top with a perch. The chickens spend more of their time in this cage than in the run that came attached to the coop so I'm presuming they like it. ... show more

I love this chicken run. It was easy to put together and bigger than I thought it would be. It’s handled all kinds of weather conditions. My chickens love it and I don’t have to worry about them running all over our land and being easy prey. I’ll be buying another to make the run even roomier
