I bought this because my speakers are going out on my TV. It was easy to set up. I wish it could be a little louder to be honest and maybe the sound to be a little clearer. It does sit out of the way and doesn't take up much space. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something a bit better than the Tv sound. I got this to replace TV speakers that are blown and make a cracking sound. This speakers is, as good as the original TV speakers before they were damaged. It's not great for a music buff, but it's fine for just watching TV. The optical connection did not work, and yes I did enable the optical out from the TV. I can't prove that it's the fault of the speaker. It could be the TV. I don't have another device with an optical out to test it on. However, there are 4 inputs. Analog, HDMI ARC passthrough, bluetooth, and optical. With ARC you don't need line of sight and don't even really need the remote. The TV remote tells the speaker the sound level, so you can mount it anywhere and not worry about that. ... show more

First and foremost. The soundbar adds to the loudness settings in the TV. If you want normal sound when using the soundbar set the audio to zero in the TV before plugging in the soundbar. This will also allow the mute to work from the TV remote. If you really want to crank up the sound level to rock and roll concert level, then put the TV sound at a high level before connecting the soundbar. After connecting the soundbar just raise the sound level on the soundbar and wait for the neighbors to complain of call the police. LOL. The sound level is cumulative, TV + Soundbar. The quality of the sound remains good even at higher sound levels. The good 1. More than loud enough without losing sound quality. 2. Don't need the soundbar remote for changing volume or muting. Just use the TV remote. 3. Easy to set up when using HDMI ARC The bad 1. There is no indicator on the remote to tell you how much Bass or Treble you have. Also, I didn't notice any difference in the Bass or Treble which I had set in the TV settings when clicking on the Bass and Treble buttons on the soundbar remote. 2. The soundbar remote will not forward, reverse or pause regular videos played from my library of video stored on my steaming app like the TV remote will. 3. The Music, Movie and Dialog button appear to be preset equalizer settings. You either like them or you don't. They do make a slight difference in the sound quality and loudness when you change from one option to another when you are watching a video or using the Pandora app. The Ugly 1. The Insignia Fire TV offers more and better sound options, including the Advanced (Sound) Settings. 2. Using the soundbar locks you out of making any changes to your TV audio settings unless you unplug the soundbar, turn the TV on and go to audio settings. 3. I found the soundbar remote useless for my needs in that it isn't needed to turn the TV on or off, control the volume. mute the sound and doesn't appear to affect the have much effect on the sound quality. It also can't forward or reverse videos. Maybe it is more useful on TVs other than the Insignia Fire TV. Summing Up The only improvement the soundbar appears to make to the TV audio is that it allows you to crank up the audio to concert level. Great for pool parties if you have the soundbar connected to an Insignia Fire TV outside on the patio and don't mind neighbors calling the police on you. P.S. I have not yet installed the Spotify app so I can't comment on that app. ... show more

This small device packs a big punch for its perfect integration with my new Roku-equipped 32" TV. Once attached to the ARC connection, it automatically enabled the CEC settings and whatever others are needed for proper operation. No manual adjustments were needed. With two previous sound bars, each would randomly (and frustratingly) either go into sleep mode for volume control or turn off entirely. This Bestisan soundbar, however, does shut completely off rather than go into sleep mode when the TV is turned off. No big deal - it automatically comes back on when the TV is turned on. The sound quality is superior to comparable devices. It isn't like high end products, but the dialogue is crystal clear in any setting. Bass and treble enhancements deliver optimal listening experiences for this category of audio delivery. Very satisfied right from the start. ... show more

I bought not his but another sound bar for my computer some 12 cheaper and to be used for multiple sources, same size 16" with LEDs, radio, BT and USB, I got really disappointed as it sounded just like another small speaker I had, and I was almost going to keep it but I returned it and got this one, wow! it just met my expectations, great sound for the price and size, lots of ports and you could even attach a subwoofer if you want to have extra pinch but stills it has a really decent bass.
