I've tested over a dozen digital night vision setups and this one was one of the most impressive overall. The video clarity was exceptional. The range on the device is great. It takes a very common and convenient battery types. The build quality is good. The only factor holding this device back is its size/weight but thats the tradeoff for the awesome range. Like trying to watch an HD movie over a 20 year old modem connected to a telephone jack. At this point, because WIFI was why I chose this model, I am extremely disappointed. When connected with the free app to my iPhone 7+ (ver. 11.4) w/256 GB memory, it is not just SLOW, it is down right impotent. The connection keeps resetting and the image will freeze while i watch the bits per second drop to nothing. Maybe I have a defective unit or maybe it’s user error. Yes, I know it is a Gen 1 but let me say that it is a rather amazing Gen 1. Either I got the best one they ever built or this is the standard of how they are built. Either way, for hunting coyotes at out to 250 yards you won't have any problem using this monocular with the IR it is equipped with. Instructions are dismal to say the least but the scopes programs are easy to figure out in a matter of 10-15 minutes of playing around with it. After setting up in my half acre yard I went out behind my country subdivision where yotes have been crossing the dry canal bed and foraging in my neighborhood every night about an hour after dark. In a matter of 58 minutes 5 coyotes down and had I mounted this on my shotgun would have had seven. Dumb inexperienced coyote for sure but wont be bothering the small pets in my neighborhood any longer. If you haven't experienced night vision and want to, this is one of the best entry level monoculars on the market and it seems to have good battery life as I neglected to turn it off until 4 hours later. This is the one to buy for sure ! I will try downloading video at a later date as soon as I get that part figured out. ... show more

Overall this seems to be a really good IR Monocular. The pictures here are using different magnifications and are anywhere from 20 yards (wheeler) to 80 yards (deer). The clarity is really good and the ability to focus the lens makes it even better. I really like the WiFi abilities and I intend on buying a tripod and using my phone as the viewing screen. It having the built in light is a big plus so i am able to have a free hand while using it. looking across the little field at my house i was able to see the opposite wood line really clearly and that is around 180 yards. It was still lit up at the distance very well so i know it will go a lot farther . Overall i am very happy with this and can not wait to see what it can do in a wide open area. ... show more

This Is my first night vision optic and I'm loving it! I mostly use it around the farm, looking at wildlife and scanning for predators to my livestock. It has a really nice quality feel to it, smooth focusing, rubberized, and sturdy. I expect it to be a long lasting device. All of the operating features work well. The zoom works really well and I have been able to see animals clearly past 150 yards. I haven't had a chance to use at much longer distances yet. This is not some cheap gimmick, I am impressed how well it works. I was convinced by a friend who had purchased the same monocular to give it a try and I'm glad that I did. I also like that it will stream the video to my phone so that what is being viewed can also be seen by others. I would recommend it to others. Looking forward to more adventures. ... show more

The zoom is amazing. The down side is if you don't have it mounted (as with most things) it can get a little shaky. It is also super easy to use. It can take a bit to find your right illuminator setting but it's just a push of a button. As many others have noted, the thing is built tough. So concern over having it in a bag can be eliminated. Even so, it comes with a soft case for protection. It even included a lens wipe cloth. All in all I'd say this is well worth the money. ... show more

It's exactly as described, and is pretty bad@$$, I love putting it on a sturdy tripod and just observing birds in the day with the awesome zoom, and night comes alive with zooming digital night vision!
