I chose this mattress because the Bonnell springs were supposed to be bouncier and more plush than other coil innerspring units found in "firm" mattresses. I was right, the mattress was bouncy and comfortable, especially after I put 4" of latex toppers on top of it. But I was dismayed to discover that it looks like the law label had been altered. As you can see from the attached photos, the law label had been changed to show "FR BARRIER 11%" - I assume this means "Fire Barrier". Underneath this label were the words, "GLASS FIBER 11%" This is the dangerous fiberglass used as a cheap fire retardant. This is the fiberglass which Zinus is being sued for. If I had known that this mattress contained fiberglass, I would never have bought it. Also the ad claimed it was 8" but it isn't. I have brought this to Amazon's attention. ... show more

We bought this bed because we desperately needed a new one. Our old bed was hurting my and my wife's back and it was just time to replace it. This bed is quite comfortable and I no longer wake up with back pain. It also keeps me quite cool (I generally run warmer than my wife does) and I can get on it without disturbing my wife who goes to bed earlier than I do. I purchased two of these mattresses for my daughters bunkbeds and they love them...they did have a little smell when I first opened them but it was gone within 24 hours. They were at there full 8" within 2 hours and seem to bed very comfortable.

I'll be honest....we only bought this for the last semester of college for our kidlet because the apartment didn't come with furnishings. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and she had a mattress topper so I figured this would work for that short period of time. She tells me she couldn't do it without the topper but it's really ok for the few months she has left of school. We will be able to sell it to the next renter with no problem and they will get a lot of good use from it. It's solid quality is a real plus.
