  • Quality topper - No Cover
Size: Queen Style: 2.5 Inch
I feel this is a great item for the price, very comfy. It took 4 days to unravel. No slip cover but definitely good quality cushion/topper.

  • "Ohhh...This is nice!"
Update: 1/30/2015: Still amazing! I have been rotating and flipping it, which is what I do with my mattress (some you can flip, most you have to rotate, it helps your mattress from breaking down) You do not have to do that, but I like to do it. As I think I mentioned, I sink in more than my fiance, who is more cradled on his back. I like to rotate everything because my side of any sleeping surface always caves down more. It always feels fresh though. In some hindsight, if you lay on the bed reading or whatever you do, try not to do it on the other person's side so when they get it, the material will form to them so its fresh and ready for them! Busted, hahaha! :D First, I want to start out and say I have an extensive background in textiles (bedding) as a sales specialist. I was not paid for this review, I just want people to know this is coming from the standpoint of someone who has taken seminars on sleep products and cares greatly to give good reviews especially for bedding. I am still the go too person when people want advice so I hope this helps because if something is great, I rate it so, if its crap, you'll get the truth. When it first came, it took maybe 4-5 hours to plump up but it was quick all the same. It was cold out (snow out n all), so I turned on the room heat which helped that process. It did not really reek that bad, but I did open the windows (hence the heat so the room was normal and vented) I have been using it so far about 3 weeks? Which is less time than I usually wait for reviews. In general you need about a week to two weeks to retrain your body alignment as I call it. If you were sleeping terrible before, sleeping correctly will make you sore at first. It makes little sense, but it is much like a strained muscle, and when it is relaxed, all the tension hits you like a wave and then little by little you feel better. The material is of a medium quality I think, the foam contours and shapes to you, but it does not hold its shape for long (hand test for example). It bounces back quickly. For over longer periods, it does have more give and feels more supple. I added a close up photo of my hand print which is barely seen even though I was pressing down for a while, and a 12 pound bowling ball. See how the ball is just cradled on its own, without a sinkhole effect. I also tested it with the ball near the edge, and it does start to roll so if you are an "edge of the bed" sleeper, expect some slippage due to gravity. It will hug you, but you will not be firm in place like some people complain about with thick foam and trying to move about. I also added the picture of another product with the pad to show that even with 12 pounds, and a high loft pillow, this pad just cushions where the "weight is" I am a "roller" I switch potions and flop about all night, I find that the reaction of the foam is perfect for this, but near morning, the whole piece will be supple in your area. I also use a knee pillow and a tube pillow for my chest, and I found that I had to switch some of those for thinner options because the foam give much more support (but I still use the supplements). My fiance is a log in bed, and a back sleeper. He rarely moves, so he finds it cradles well and makes his back feel much better. Previously when he would sleep too hard and snore, I would lift my body slightly in bed then flop down, as a gentle bed rumble to muss him half awake to stop the snoring. With this pad, the tactic is not as well executed, it does muffle body movement well. I bought this for our bed because my mattress was too firm for my fiance, but we are waiting to upgrade to a larger bed. I figured this would be a nice treat for him, and when the bed goes to being a guest bed, all the better. For the price, its a bargain. You will NOT get this quality in retail for this price. You will get junk for this price, and something like this would cost an arm and leg. I will be back to this company's products. Plus a weird bonus was how local the items were. ... show more

  • Great & Comfy, but Too Short
Pretty great, but it's about six inches too short for my dorm mattress (and about one inch too wide). Arguably that's my fault for not checking the measurements, but really, if something is advertised as a twin, it should be safe to assume that it will fit on a twin. Fortunately I'm short and I like to let my feet dangle off the end of the mattress anyway due to joint pain, so it's not really a big deal; it just looks a little unattractive. EDIT: I was unaware that dorm mattresses are typically Twin XL, so the sizing is actually correct. My dorm mattress is a little on the thin side, so personally I didn't need an extra-deep fitted sheet; a regular fitted sheet worked fine with a bit of finagling. I'd imagine a regular-size mattress would need a special fitted sheet. I do have a problem with the pad shifting around every time I slide off the side of my loft bed, but I imagine that's true for any mattress pad that isn't literally glued to the mattress. I have a terrible sense of smell, so take my review of the smell with a grain of salt, but it really wasn't that bad. I noticed it when I first pulled it out, but as it was night time and I didn't want to spend another night on my uncomfortable dorm mattress, I didn't have time to properly air it out. I put the sheet on almost right away and went to bed. Didn't notice the smell unless I stuck my face right into the mattress and breathed in deep; as long as my head was on the pillow it was fine. But again, my nose sucks at being a nose. It expanded very rapidly, which was a relief since, as I mentioned, I didn't really want to wait anyway. I was nervous when I took it out and saw how tiny and thin it was and thought it would take several hours to fully expand. I turned around to toss my trash, maybe thirty seconds, and by the time I turned back it was fully expanded. As far as usefulness goes: it's extremely comfy! I'd slept on my dorm mattress for five days at that point and it was t e r r i b l e. Hard, unpadded, springs poking into you, etc. I had such bad pain from the springs that it felt like that time I had pleurisy (I was actually concerned that's what it was at first). Within a single night of using this mattress pad, that side pain went away. I was a bit nervous about using a mattress pad, since I had slept on a memory foam mattress before and HATED it, as I found that my body sunk deeper into the mattress than my head did and it left my neck at a very uncomfortable angle. I do not have that problem with this pad; everything is equally supported and I am perfectly comfortable. It's worth mentioning now that I have HORRIFIC insomnia, since I was an infant. I get about two hours a night, and going a full night without sleep is a weekly occurrence for me. I have tried every drug on the market and none work; meditation/yoga/exercise do not work either. I won't claim this mattress pad cured me, because it certainly didn't. BUT I have noticed that it takes me a little less time to get comfortable and drift off; down from six hours to maybe four or five on average. And I wake up feeling a little more refreshed. I know that doesn't sound like a big difference, but to me that's HUGE. I've also noticed a significant reduction in back, hip, and knee pain that is also strangely drug-resistant. Sadly my wrists, ankles, and other joints haven't seen the same improvement, but hey, there's no magic cure for everything. ... show more

  • Better thickness than 4"
This is much better than the 4". I thought I was being swallowed each night. So far the 2" is working much better. Protects me from the hard mattress & doesn't gobble me up every night.

  • I don't use these foam pads as intended
Size: Twin XL Style: 2 Inch
In '95 I injured my knee and ever since then and after four surgeries, I have to keep my leg raised while I sleep. I found these twin size mattress toppers, when they're rolled up fit perfectly in a king size pillow case and work great to keep my leg raised while I sleep. It was time to buy a new one so I bought this one. I usually get the 1.5" but those have a tendency of slipping out of the pillow case so this time I thought I'd try the 2" thinking it will fill more of the pillow case and it wouldn't slip off. So far, so good in that regard. What I didn't count on was how firm this bad is from what I'm used to. It really isn't that flexible or even soft but I'm hoping it will 'loosen up' as time goes on. As a mattress topper, I'm sure it's great but as I said, my use is unique. ... show more
