This is a very good Kayak paddle. A carbon fiber shaft is the way to go for a long excursion, and this product offers a great price value for that feature. I bought a pair of these for my wife and I. I ordered the paddle length according to their chart which is based on the kayak's width and your height. I'm sure it works in general, but it did not in our case. I'm 6'-3" and she's 5'-0" and thus I ordered her a shorter paddle. It was clear on our very first trip that hers was too short. We swapped paddles and she was much happier with mine so I returned hers and we now have two alike expect the colors. Once we had the correct length, we love these paddles. They can be clocked for a different attack angle, and also for a RH or LH paddler. The carbon-fiber shaft is light weight which is the name of the games with a paddle. This is a great paddle. Well made and balanced. Adjustment and breakdown feature is exact and solid, with no play whatsoever. Color is spot on to what is advertised. Paddles are sealed very well where they mount to the handle so there is no water intrusion.

First I had high hopes for this paddle. I thought, because it stated that it was manufactured by Best Marine and the information presented said it was a Boston-based company, that I was buying an American, Made in the USA product. Well it is NOT. First pic shows at least that the paddle blade is Made in China. My second disappointment is with the paddle blade graphics. Quality is poor. It arrived with several places that were damaged and bubbled up where the decal is not adhered to the paddle blade or has clear defects/damage to the decal. This makes me question the quality and durability of the cool design that was one of the features that drew me to pick this paddle so it would coordinate with my kayak. I have not had a chance to test it out since it just arrived…4-days later than it said I’d get it when I ordered so I’ll have to wait til the next weekend to give it a test run. Overall, I’m just feeling a bit deceived because it really looked like the pattern was built into the blade and not a decal. I don’t know how it can possibly stand up to normal river paddling use when it arrived with visible bubbling and peeling already present. I’ll give it a try but so far it’s aesthetically a disappointment. If the decal peels off, it won’t be pretty anymore and it won’t coordinate with my kayak colour which is what I wanted. Two plus points are it is considerably lighter than any of my other paddles and it’s longer than my other paddle. I bought the 250cm about 8.2 ft long which I needed because I raised my seat height and thus needed a longer paddle to compensate for the added rise distance from the water. This is why I give it 3 stars. I’ll be sure to update my review after its first river test run. I usually don’t run anything over a class II river. Mostly I paddle class I or flat lake waters 95% of the time. I’ll give it a try. ... show more
