  • Perfect Gift
Color: Light Blue
My daughter bought this for herself as a beginner guitar. I definitely feel like this is a perfect gift. If your child is trying to learn music, it was very easy to put together. The sound quality is amazing. It’s definitely worth the money.

  • Incredible bargain
Color: Blueburst
Yeah it's cheaply-made, but that's par-for-the-course for a $50 amazon guitar. What is truly exceptional is the add-ons and gear you get with it, like picks, a tuner, spare strings, guides, a capo, etc. Starting to learn guitar is complicated enough, and this product saved me a lot of effort finding each little thing. Highly recommend for newbies! ... show more

  • Worth it
This guitar is well worth the $20 + S&H it costs. The sound quality is easily comparable to $500 guitars. There is NO WAY to get a better guitar for your money, not even buying used or hitting up pawn shops. The body itself is hand made and sound excellent. The wood is a little thin and I would hate to bang it around or drop it much so I wouldn't use this guitar if I was traveling with a band, but it's perfectly fine for your average person who will take it out every couple of days and put it back up some place safe. I keep mine in the corner of my bedroom. The paint is bubbly and slightly chipped in a few places, but it's really minor. Again, this is a $20 beginners guitar and not meant to be a showpiece. It's about price Vs sound quality. The strings are crap, throw them away. I took a star off because they could have spent another $2-$3 and gave you really good strings. They are steel (not phosphor bronze, 80/20, or even silk...just plain steel), they will not keep tune and I broke 1st E within a minute of trying to tune it. I replaced it with the spare strings and managed to get it partially tuned when it suddenly snapped too. The tuning knobs work great and look good too, no complaints there. The accessories that came with the guitar are worthless (minus the soft case and strap). The pick is gigantic, the extra strings are total crap (see above), and the pitch pipe is hard to use unless you have a trained ear. The strap is decent and works fine. I see alot of reviews from people who can't figure out the strap. It's really obvious. You tie it around the neck, you don't need that other peg. Which leads me to the next point.... This is a classical (aka spanish) guitar. It is meant to have nylon strings, not steel. This gives it that old classical sound. The saddle is straight, not angled. It's 38", not 39"+. The neck is attached at the 12th fret. The fret board is wide (about 2"). It's a classical, no doubt about it. Now that being said this guitar sounds and plays great as a "regular" acoustic guitar. There's really no harm is putting steel strings on a classical guitar (as long as you ONLY use light, custom light, or ultra light strings!) but if it really bothers you go ahead and pay $150+ for a crappy acoustic that won't even sound as good as this one... My advice is to buy this guitar, don't even think about it any more. It's $20 and the company who makes and sells it is amazing, if you have any problems just call them. I ordered my guitar the day after christmas and it was here 2 days later. Amazing. My other advice is to throw the strings away and get a set of light or custom light phosphor bronze from your favorite brand and this guitar will sound like a $500 guitar. I really like the cryogenic dipped Blue Steel strings from Dean Markley, but I have not had them on this guitar yet. I'm using D'Addario EJ16-3D Phosphor Bronze right now, but that's personal preference. Also pick up a set of picks because the one that came with it is insane. Even if you're going to fingerpick you still want a few. While you're at it get a pick guard too, this paint job won't last forever if you're scratching it to pieces with a pick. Throw in a snark digital tuner and a decent capo and you have a full package that will get you playing in less than an hour and will only cost about $45-$50 + S&H. I dare you to try that in a music store! ... show more

  • THE BEST BEGINNER GUITAR HANDS DOWN
Color: Dark Brown
The combination of a slightly smaller scale, nylon strings, low action, beauty of instrument, thinness of neck (thinner than a typical classical guitar and closer to steel string acoustics and electrics) and ridiculously low price make this the best instrument to learn on. I have been playing guitar for 45 years and bought this to add a cheap nylon to my arsenal. The included capo, tuner and strap make this an absolutely incredible deal. ... show more

  • Waste of money!
Color: Natural Mahogany
First I want to say that I knew this guitar wasn’t going to be a cordoba or anything but I expected that it would be a usable instrument. It’s not. First of all, there were all kinds of cosmetic flaws and even some dents in the body. I at least expected that it would look good. Nonetheless I could overlook all that if the thing played well. It doesn’t. It doesn’t have a bight sound it sounds dead. On top of that, it won’t stay in tune. I know with nylon strings it takes a day or two for them to stretch but it’s been a week and I have to tune it a couple of times and I might have only been playing an hour! I know it’s tempting to get this because of the price, especially if you’re looking for a beginner guitar but don’t do it! Spend a few extra bucks. I spent thirty extra bucks and got an excellent beginner classical guitar. This one is just awful. Do your research. Most importantly, listen to the reviews, something I didn’t do. ... show more
