We bought this keyboard for my son for Christmas, Dec 2016. He was just under 2 years old at the time. He absolutely loved it. We have had it for almost a year now and he plays with it almost every day. I had some concerns after reading several reviews, but I decided to buy it anyway. Some reviews mentioned that it was not very sturdy. We haven't had any issues with it. My son is almost 3 now. He weighs 35lbs. The seat supports him, never had an issue. He will pick the keyboard up and bring it from one room to another. He bangs on the keys to play music. We have never had an issue. It still works perfectly. Some reviews mentioned concerns about it being battery operated. I was a little concerned with this also, however, my son puts his mouth right on the microphone. Once I saw that, I was happy that it is battery operated and not plugged in. Also, sometimes, he wants his keyboard upstairs, or downstairs, or in another room. It is easy to move around. It takes 4 AA batteries. We bought batteries from the dollar store and they lasted from Dec 2016 to Nov 2017. I just replaced them today. We never turn the keyboard off. When he isn't playing with it, it just goes into the stand by mode. Overall, I am very happy that we bought this and would definitely recommend it to a friend. ... show more

My daughter is autistic and I don't know any other material item that has outlived and survived this long. She is now 10 and still this is her go to for her music keyboard as she has many to us. My twin 16 month olds LOVE this toy. I am giving it 4 stars because quality wise, it certainly leaves room for improvement, but my girls love making "music" on it. And while the quality doesn't seem stellar, they have taken to being "traveling piano players" and scoot this thing across the whole house, sometimes crashing and burning in the most dramatic of ways, and it has held up just fine. One thing that I saw repeatedly in the reviews was about the volume, which we really don't find problematic (although were highly entertained by some of the colorful reviews!). When you turn it on it is loud, but it is very simple to turn down the volume. And, better yet, once you turn down the volume, it stays there, until you turn it off and back on - which we rarely do because of the auto-shut-off feature that I didn't even see mentioned very much in any reviews, but is my favorite feature! The piano will going into some sort of stand-by mode all by itself after a few minutes of inactivity, and all the girls have to do is push a button to bring it back to life (which means I never have to worry about the volume issue!). I will say that the stool is, by far, their favorite part of the whole thing. They take that stool and carry it/scoot it all over the house - for hours. Overall, it has lots of options, a variety of beats and demos, and I am sure they will love the recording feature when they get older. Great toy for the value, and perfect for 12-36 month olds to explore music, and likely still great for 4 and 5 year olds who could play it with more sophistication! It is smaller than I would have imagined from the picture, but it is true to the dimensions described (you may want to get out a ruler and actually visualize the dimensions - it's a great size for a 2-3 year old, but I imagine an older/bigger kid might find it kind of small!). ... show more

Great value!!! Purchase this for our 2.5 year old who loves to tap on keys and sing. She will definitely be able to grow into this. The piano is well constructed. The stand and stool are very simple to put together. My only wish, was for the stool be a little taller. Found it to be short, just as it is advertised, for my child who is taller. The microphone works great and was better than expected. It really amplifies the sound and allows children to hear themselves. While you can turn down the sound of the keyboard, you cannot turn down the sound of the microphone. Demo songs are great and allow for my younger child to press a button and sing along. Lots of functionality for simple to somewhat more complex play. You can press up to about three keys at once and hear the notes played. Found that pressing four or more created unique sounds. Would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a beginner/“toy” keyboard, with a variety of musical capabilities (demo songs that play variety of songs, press and play along, and independent play), and at a reasonable price.
