The cabinets throughout my house are self closing, but not soft close. Consequently people are always letting the cabinets slam shut. I went to Lowes and bought a pack of two hinges for $12. I figured I would save some money and only change 1 per cabinet door. They seemed to work fine. However, I had about 30 more to go, at six bucks per door. A lot of money. I decided to see if these are available on Amazon. Voila! And only $2 each! I got to work installing them. In one case I noticed the door seemed out of level. I had to fully adjust all of them to make them look right. I got my level out and sure enough they are all out of level. Most by just a hair. I went ahead and changed the second hinge on the one that is way out of level and it is fine now. I also realized there is a significant difference in the strength of the closing when there are two self closures instead of only one. Looking back over past reviews I see where it was mentioned they don't adjust quite enough. I am moving forward, but in some cases I will use 2 instead of 1 for the sake of aesthetics. ... show more

These hinges replaced standard hinges which stopped holding the cabinet doors closed (little plastic tabs in the old ones cracked). They fit exactly into the existing cutouts and even the screw holes lined up. I was able to re-use some existing screws which were stronger than the supplied screws. The reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is that even though they fit perfectly in place of the old hinges the doors had a larger gap between them with these. There is an adjustment screw for that but fully adjusted the gap was about 1/16th of an inch larger. Not the end of the world but it would have been nice to have the same gap. ... show more

These were great 1/2" replacements for our existing hinges. The slow close feature is extremely nice, keeping your cabinet doors from slamming shut. They also offer a clip which may be purchased separately.
