I bought a house built in 1993 and it has most of the original hardware. The Master bathroom cupboard hinges were rusted and corroded, who knows what was stored under there, but they left rust and debris in the cupboard and on floor. I tried Lowe's, Home Depot, and Ebay to find replacements with no luck. Happily, a previous reviewer said these were a good replacement for the Mepla 674.329.53 hinges that are no longer available. I just switched out 10 hinges with a little difficulty, the screw holes were off on a couple of hinges, but for the most part I was able to get them all in without a big problem. I bought just 4 pcs to start to check for fit on my old style frame cabinets and everything was OK. When I ordered more pcs from Amazon, incorrect hinges were shipped : the pic showed the correct hinge, except I was sent frameless hinges, instead of the face frame hinges I first bought. I returned these to Amazon and reordered hoping to get another set just like the first batch, but Amazon again shipped the incorrect hinges. I had to return those and have had to order a different maker just in the hope of getting hinges I can use ... show more

    • Not a great replacement for my Blum

I really wanted to like these. Price point is great, and tons of great reviews. I am buying as a replacement for the Blum 70t555, and was looking for something that would just clip on to my Blum bases. Unfortunately, this didn't fit the Blum bases. So no worries, these come with a base, right? The downside is these bases are pretty flimsy, think stamped sheet metal. I decided I could live with a flimsly base, it will still work, right? I noticed then that replacing a single hinge on each regular sized cabinet door wouldn't enable the "soft close" feature, I would need to replace BOTH hinges. I guess the spring isn't strong enough. By comparison, the Blum soft close clip on (71B3550, you're welcome!) I purchased to test out closed slowly just replacing ONE hinge each cabinet (and can be found for around $3.95). Given the price point, flimsy base I would have to use, and the fact that I would have to double the amount of hinges I was replacing, I decided to return and just go with the Blum replacement. ... show more
