  • Good For Towels - NOT For Plants (or objects that require a level surface)
This rustic decorative ladder is perfect for towels or blankets but it is not a good idea for plants or heavier items. This is in use in our spare bedroom to hold some towels for guest in a neat and decorative fashion. For that purpose this is perfect. The angled steps aren't good for anything that requires a level surface (More detail on that below) This ladder is simple to assemble, the instructions were clear (see picture). and it took almost no time at all. The ladder arrived in a SHOCKINGLY small box. The ladder sides are not solid. They are composed of four 17 inch boards that are hinged together that fold up. As you add each step, it solidifies the frame to create a decently sturdy ladder that is five feet 8 inches long. The trick to assembly is to start the screws so that about 1/8" sticks out. This allows you to match up each screw with the pre-drilled guide hole. I used a screw gun on its lowest setting and went gently to avoid overtightening and everything came out perfectly. The ladder looks good. It is even and symmetric and lies perfectly against the wall. The problem for plants is that the ladder steps are aligned at 90 degrees to the sides. That means that when the ladder is leaned against a wall they steps are angled away from you toward the wall (See picture with level). A smarter design would have made the steps horizontal when the ladder was leaned into place, which would have provided a better platform for plants or objects that require a level spot to sit. That's why I'm giving this review 4 stars. ... show more

  • Versatile
Versatile ladder. As shown on pics you can use it for bathroom towels, bedroom clothes or even hang to the wall for candles and stuff. I am keeping it.

  • Splinters!!
I usually don’t like leaving poor reviews as sometimes I can blow it off as a “I got what I paid for” experience! This experience though, it was something else! First, removing the wood slats from the box gifted me with 3 splinters immediately and 2 more when it was all said and done. Second, instead of two top pieces cut with a diagonal to lean against the wall and two bottom pieces cut with a slight diagonal for the floor, I had 3 floor pieces and one top. So, being me and feeling like it’s more trouble to return it, I just cut the 3rd piece to match the other top piece. Now, each side of the ladder is attached together with 4 fully foldable hinges and there are pre-drilled holes for screws for each “step”. I had to take off one hinge on the bottom to turn around the slat, it was on backwards. So, moving on as I started attaching the slats to the sides, they weren’t lining up. I had to make new holes for 3 of the steps after attaching one side and they didn’t line up with the other. After all of this and doing a quick light sanding, I guess I now have a fairly decent blanket ladder. I still hold to the get what you pay for reality, but I hope with that many problems this was just a rare occurrence and others have had a better experience. ... show more

  • Thin, Simple Ladder
We picked this up to hang blankets. This could also be used for towels, but you may want to add more poly/varnish if you plan to use this around water. Assembly isn't terrible. Each rail comes folded with hinges between sections. Unfold then, then start screwing rungs on. Each rung takes 4 screws, 2 per side. You'll want a drill for this; don't it by hand wouldn't be fun. The holes in the rails are pre-drilled and countersunk on one side. The rungs have pilot holes so it is easy to align. Last are two rubber feet/stickers Once assembled, this is relatively sturdy. It definitely wouldn't be safe to climb on, even for a kid. It'll really hold blankets though. The wood is smooth and smells strongly of pine. The wood has a somewhat burnt/charred look. None of that rubs off probably due to a light finish. You may want to add a thicker finish, however. Overall this is ok. It is pretty simple, and you could make this yourself without much experience. Depending on your level, you may just want to build one. ... show more

  • Here's MY honest opinion.
Let me say first that I am a Vine Voice which means I receive products free in exchange for my honest opinion. I was very excited when I saw this blanket/towel/whatever-you-want-to-use-it-for (except climbing on it) ladder available. After receiving it, putting it together, and using it, here is my take on it. What I Like: ~~Instructions are included. Basic, but they will do the trick. On the instructions it refers you to the video that you can watch regarding assembly. (If you scroll up on this page, you will find video(s) provided by the manufacturer. If you are unsure of how to put it together, watch the video for help.) ~~I'm an old gal and have arthritis in my hands. I did not have any trouble putting the ladder pieces onto my kitchen table, making sure everything was correctly positioned, then putting in the 24 screws required. (Screwdriver provided was perfect.) It was not difficult to "find" the matching pre-started hole on the rungs. As you can see in my pictures, I placed all the screws into the side pieces first. That way I didn't have to go back and forth with each rung. ~~It took about half an hour to lay everything out, screw it together, place the non-slip pads on the bottom, carry it to my master bedroom near my master bathroom, and hang up some towels. ~~I didn't weigh it, but I'm 66 and it was easy-peasy to carry; lightweight and sturdy. What I Wish: ~~They could have done a better job with staining the wood. For me, I can live with it. This ladder looks rustic and, honestly, fits right in with my other decor. If I really wanted to, I could take it to my shed and fix it up. Nah, not worth it to me. I'd take half-a-star away if I could for this. ~~Although this doesn't apply to me, I wish the price point was lower. That way you might jump on getting this ladder, too. I will say that I have seen other ladders at higher price points locally and they are not as nice as this one (IMHO). I'm very pleased with this product. We have an outdoor swimming pool. How easy to carry this outside when the grands come over to swim. Everyone can hang their towel on their own rung after a dunk in the pool. (Who am I kidding? Grams can hang their towels.) I see no reason to not give this decorative ladder five stars. So I did. ... show more
