Someone put a lot of thought into the durability and usability of this toy! It's nearly silent, which I thoroughly appreciate, and it's easy to operate. A couple of things I wish were different: 1. The toy slaps the string attachment down HARD. Like, swat-the-dog-on-the-nose hard (I don't have a dog, and I wouldn't swat it if I did, but hopefully you get the gist). I would prefer a toy that my cats attack, not the other way around. 2. The plastic wings are the exact hardness and thickness to cut an animal's nose if they're in the way when it slaps down. I stuck that attachment to a cardboard box instead. 3. It's ALIVE! This thing turned itself on at 3 am and scared the crap out of me. I had put it in one of those tiny camping tents from Pet Smart, and, in my groggy haze, it rolling against the sides and smacking on the floor sounded exactly like a crackling fire. Scared me half to death. I realize auto-start is a feature, not a bug, but I would prefer if its hours of operation didn't include 3 am. 4. I would also prefer if it rolled in a straight line for longer. It does a lot of flipping around, but my cats like to chase snakes, not butterflies. When it goes straight, they immediately start after it, but it stops and flips around almost immediately, which causes them to settle back down to watch it. Kind of defeats the whole reason I bought it. Now, some things I like about it: 1. It's ALIVE! Startling as it is, my cats seem to enjoy the auto-start feature: it really juices up their prey drive. It also keeps the thing from getting hopelessly lost under furniture. 2. It's nearly silent. 3. It can climb (sort of) and get itself out of jams. I found it in a corner behind a scratching post that has a thick base; I thought it was stuck, but as I reached down to rescue it, it noped and popped itself up and out of the corner. 4. It does a marvelous job of cleaning cobwebs from under kitchen cabinets (hence why I put it in the tent). I gave this toy four stars because it's incredibly well-built, well-thought-out, and nearly silent; these are the top three issues most electronic cat toys have, and this company tackled them all. To push it to five stars, I would have it travel in a straight line for a longer period and reduce the strength of the downward slap. ... show more

My cat is half feral, was abandoned to the street. He is now 100% domesticated but he has street smarts, He watches this thing crassh into the wall and spin around it pretty much does the same thing crashs into a stationary object, spins around and takes off. for some reason my cat looks at this thing and knows its predicable.. My suggestion is if this toy can have s speed choice and if it went slower, my cat may have had fun with it and my cat can catch a fly . a slower setting and not so rhythmic... but this is a fantasic toy. i actully liked watching it work its way out oa a suck corner. if you cant pull the blinders over your cat then this toy might not work but for a human for sure. ... show more

This toy is great for cats. My cat watches it the whole time it's on. I kind of wish she would chase it for exercise but I'm sure a lot of cats would. It gets stuck sometimes but I have a lot of things out in my house that interfere a bit. I'm glad I bought this!

Our cat loves this toy. It shuts off after 10 minutes of no play which is a bit of a pain having to get up and turn it on again for him. But, he has also turned it back on himself when we are in bed trying to sleep lol. He has a tunnel and loves to get in there and attack this toy when it goes by - he gets hours of play out of this. In the morning, we put it on the charger and it’s ready to go again in a couple of hours. Well worth the $, and I would buy it again! ... show more

I let my cat pick which toy she wanted to use, she of course picked the feather! She sort of liked it until the toy had the stick facing her, charged (not super fast, but she just let it happen...) It got her eye, she moved her face and not her body so it went in her mouth, while she's almost deep throating a toy she finally moves. Took her a while after to like the toy again with some encouragement to seek vengeance on the toy. Shell watch it, attack here n there. It's like TV to her. Keeps her quiet while I'm cooking tho!!! Main reason I needed it. She's a whiny one and I couldn't play more than 5 minutes a time with her before my arms got tired. This toy lasts 10 minutes, rests an hour thirty, kicks back on and smacks stuff. (It's best if you set up cardboard around for the feathers to smack on!!! Can't turn the lights off unless it's off or resting. Chasing it sometimes to turn it off feels like chasing a pet, it's like a lil robot friend that plays "catch me if you can" it'll stop, then ride away and it's slow but just fast enough at walking pace to grab it LOL. I try to keep it in the kitchen, it has a sensor that I'm unsure is a heat sensor or camera for objects. I wanna say heat just cuz it's too stupid to have a camera. It ends up under the desk smacking feet trying to get attention, goes towards the cat, where anyone walks the most. It does a decent job staying in the kitchen for the most part. Charging takes a C port like my phone, it stays red when it's dying or charging and colorful when it's charged. It's a quiet toy depending on it's surroundings, (paper bags and cardboard helps excite the sounds, get creative and they'll thank you later for it.) I also get a kick of her waiting for her toy to charge.. Sits and stares at it. A light paw check to see if it'll play. Our pets have to wait like we do now lol ... show more
