Bought this to go with an adirondack pack canoe that has wood trim. Beautiful paddle, nice quality and weight. The handle portion is not perfectly round, a bit oval, which is my preference for kayak paddles.

We much prefer these wooden paddles by Bending Branches than the fiberglass and plastic paddles. The wood is more stiff and feels better in hand. We have two sets now because we liked them so much.

Used once, snapped in half after about 30 minutes of paddling in smooth water. I thought I was buying a quality paddle, but it turns out it was just a pretty one. The center fiberglass snapped in half. I am not exactly strong, and it was just normal rowing. At least I was able to paddle home with half a paddle. ... show more
