  • Functional but a bit flimsy
I have mixed feelings about this blade lock. For its primary function, holding the blade in place as you tighten the nut, it is an effective solution to the problem. However, it seems pretty flimsy, and I don't expect to get years of service from it. The inside plastic tab that keep the blade from rotating have been mostly chewed away after about 6 months of light use. Also, I would not trust it to lift the blade out of the saw, as your blade is likely to slip out of the slick plastic and chip a tooth when it drops. Overall, it's a good idea - better than a block of wood - but I wish it was stronger. ... show more

  • Blade Aid!
I prefer keeping my blood inside my body and my money in my wallet! The Bench Dog Table Saw Blade-Loc guarantees I can do both at the same time. Other great safety Bench Dog products you might want to check out include the Push-Loc Offset Push Stick For Table Saws, Router Tables With Docking Station and the Feather-Loc Single Featherboard for Table Saws & Router Tables . Using the Blade-Loc I avoid cuts and dings to both me and my expensive saw blade. I much prefer using the blade aid versus a band aid! The Bench Dog works great and does exactly what it was meant to do. ~ The Boss ... show more

  • Worked great less than a dozen times.
After jamming a scrap of wood between the blade and the table of my arbor saw and radial arm saw for years I ordered the Bench Dog to get to the free shipping cutoff. Using this to take off the radial arm saw blade for cleaning was EASY. I put it under the blade, lowered the radial arm saw blade into it without exerting much pressure, and took the arbor nut right off. This tool probably saved me 5 minutes. Considering I've installed and reinstalled blades after sharpening (the days when this was normal), and installed new blades to replace old ones (today's normal) perhaps 100 times (not counting Dado blades) this tool could have saved me perhaps 8 or 9 hours of time over 30 years taking off blades and another 8 or 9 hours putting them back on. It's worth the cost. UPDATE - It works great until the inside of the tool shreds off and the it's throw away time. I would not buy another. ... show more

  • WORTHLESS!
I bought this for my Emerson made Sears/Craftsman 10 inch table saw. It is worthless! It does not keep the blade from turning when trying to loosen or tighten the spindle nut. I ended up having to just use a block of wood to lock the blade from turning as the blade just simply turns inside of the Bench Dog! ... show more

  • Finger saver
I love this piece of plastic. For someone who isn't used to changing blades quite yet, this is a finger saver and makes me much more confident in setting up my table saw. I use it to change out my 10inch blades and though the teeth cut into the plastic a little, it just adds traction, it has not made the device any less useful. ... show more

  • Perfect Table Saw Accessory
Bought these as gifts for some new woodworkers. Works like a charm (I've had one for 10 years or more) and it saves jaming a piece of wood against the saw blade teeth and possibly bending one or breaking off a tip. I also recommend purchasing a large mechanics style open end/box wrench to fit the arbor nut. Nice Chrome ones are less than $10 each. ... show more

  • Stick to my oak stick
I bought this to use on my 10 inch table saw. and I find myself using my oak stick more then this. I think it could be designed better, needs notches in side to catch blade teeth. I love bench dog products but this one I would have left on the shelf.

  • Great and useful safety idea Rockler
Great and useful safety idea Rockler. I rubber-coated top curve for even better grip and it's magnetized to the side of the saw for easy access. Turn around and slap yourself on the back.
