    • Nice Idea but poor quality where the usb goes into the hub

I really liked the idea of this Belkin USB C Hub and in principle it works well but it has a problem where the wire goes into the hub as it pulls away from the hub revealing the wires and the risk of breaking off. This happened last year and I had to wrap the wire with electrical tape in order to continue using it but it's now pulling away again so no easy fix if at all. It is not what I wold call good quality and can't recommend it unless you want to keep it permanently on your disk never moving it and even then because of the way the wire connects it puts stress on the unit leading to it wearing out. Needed a dock when I unexpectedly needed to work at my mother’s home for an extended period of time. The dock worked great but the rubber strips on the top of the dock doesn’t work well. The laptop keeps sliding off the dock. otherwise it works great.

I'm not sure why Macbooks have no usb ports, but they don't. So a product like this is totally necessary for Mac owners in order to have things like external keyboards, speakers, and an external hard drive. A really nice thing about this one is that it has an external power port, so it can be (but does not need to be) powered by an external cord. This saves a lot of battery drain on the laptop. I had a J5 dock before which was always super hot (temperature), it got its power from the laptop, and occasionally it would overheat and my hard drive would disconnect. In any case this has 3 USB A ports as well as ethernet, and a monitor hdmi port, which makes it a perfect fit for anybody with a Mac and much better than the J5 dock that I had. ... show more

Works great for allowing me to hook up two monitors to my PC. I'm not the least bit tech savvy, so our tech support guy at work told me what to get. This has a pin style hookup for my older monitor, which is great because many other hubs don't.
