The media could not be loaded. My 6 year old son has been learning violin for more than half a year. I wanted to get him a cheap guitar, since it is relatively easy to learn it for violin players. He is 50" tall, so this 30" guitar was the right size. For how inexpensive it is, I was very happy with this guitar. It feels solid and well built, and it has good sound. I used the digital tuner included with the guitar and was able to tune it, I only had some trouble with the 6th string until I figured out that I had to play it repeatedly while tuning for the tuner to catch the note properly. Once tuned, the guitar puts out a decent sound, and my son is very excited to learn to play it. I like that it comes with the shoulder strap and case. The picks are the only thing that feels a little cheap; they work ok, but they are very thin plastic Overall, this is definitely a "low tier", beginner guitar, but it is great to get such a complete set so cheap. That way we can test if my son is interested on learning it alongside with the violin, without having to invest a lot of money on it. ... show more

As with any instrument, you get what you pay for. As a guitarist, certain things were expected, the nut and bridge needed a little sanding but other than that, it's literally a little guitar. If you're gonna complain about 'it doesn't hold a tune', it does... but, common knowledge with classical guitars (nylon strings) you'll have to keep playing and tuning due to the strings having to stretch. Tuning will get less frequent as time goes on, when the strings are finally stretched to proper tension. I'm happy my 3yr old now has a perfect learner's guitar tho. I recommend looking at youtube on how to take care of a classical guitar. The principles are the same and it'll raise the quality of it. People tend to 'WANT to play' when it's a Good Quality Instrument. I hope this was helpful. ... show more

Please do not buy this for a new guitar player! I really wanted this guitar to travel with and didn't really expect much. It did finally stay in tune but the intonation, the frets, the finish, the lack of a truss rod is simply intolerable. I have played guitar for over 50 years both professionally and for the simple joy in it and finally decided that I needed a real guitar even to take with me on a vacation. Having been a guitar teacher for years I cringe at the thought of a poor student thinking this guitar is a usable instrument and that something's wrong with them. Enough said. ... show more

This guitar package has everything you'll need to get started with your guitar career. Being that it's only 30", it's obvious this is not intended for an adult. However, this would be a great gift for a 8 - 12 year old who is interested in learning guitar without making a huge investment. Packaging: Comes in a pizza-shaped cardboard box, wrapped in plastic wrap. Underneath the guitar is all of the included accessories. Product: The build quality is great, seems durable (relatively speaking) and no cracks, scratches etc. Extras: Comes pre-strung, as well as an additional set of strings for replacement. My favorite item is the clip on tuner. Also included are strum picks, a shoulder strap and a thin travel bag. Overall: I would recommend this product ... show more

I have been a guitarist for over 50 years now and I have never seen a better guitar for a young child to use to start learning. I got this for my nine year old granddaughter. I have recently began concentrating on learning classical guitar and she loves to listen. She came to me and said she wanted to learn to play like that. Thiss little guitar isn't a toy. Rather it is real musical instrument and should be treated as such. I can't wait to start teaching her...gotta go through the string stretching routine for a while so it stays in tune. The media could not be loaded. If you think about what you are getting for the price. This is a good value. Beginner instruments are all about testing if your kids really enjoy the instrument enough to find out whether or not it’ll be worth it to purchase a higher quality product. I also like to look at it as if I were to buy each item individually. Strap $10, digi tuner $10, soft case $15, extra strings $10, some picks and a cleaning cloth $5 so that total (not including the guitar) is $50. In accessories that are definitely needed for a beginner player. Now just think about that price and the difference of the total price for the whole package and that difference is how much you’re paying for a guitar!!! Pretty great deal indeed ;) ... show more

This is a great beginner's guitar. It is the right size for a youngster to play without getting frustrated. The fact that it comes with a case, picks and tuner is also very nice. The strings are well made and the instrument is easy to tune. I recommend this guitar
