  • Mind the gap, lol.
Size: X2020+Y4040 Style: Black
It is a solid well built set of tensioners, but the y axis tensioner (4040) tensioner has very little adjustment. Unlike the (2020) tensioner on X axis. It also leaves a gap between on the front of the printer that just looked ugly. Of course if you can be creative then it isn't as big a deal, but it was still there and i had to be the one to make it to my liking or send it back and put the stock tensioners back on or find another set from a different maker. I did come up with a clean solution in my opinion, but had i know it was gonna be the way it was, i probably would have chosen a different kind. My solution was to cut out the end cover i had when i relocated the on off switch to accommodate the belt i had left over as spare parts. ... show more

  • Another junk upgrade that's not worth the money
Size: 2020-1 Style: Black
I'm getting kind of tired of buying all these poorly designed upgrades that on the surface seem like a good idea but once you get them you realize that they are very poorly engineered. The main problem with this belt tensioner is that it has less than half the travel adjustment of the stock tensioner. I believe I measured close to 20 mm of travel adjustment on the stock tensioner while this new and improved upgraded tensioner barely has 7 millimeters of adjustment travel. You would literally have to redesign the entire thing to get it more travel out of it. You could try to adjust travel by adjusting its position on the 20x20 extrusion but the problem with that is that the short side needs to be butted up against the extrusion on the other side or you wind up with excessive flex in the aluminum far more than in the stock part. In other words by only supporting it on one side the entire tensioner flexes while the tool head changes direction. This might not be a problem if you're printing it slow speeds but when you crank up the acceleration to 1500 and the prints meet up to 100 mm a second you can literally see the tensioner bending back and forth. This means you have no choice but to butt it up solidly against the 20x20 extrusion so both sides of the tensioner are supported. If you don't you'll wind up with excessive ringing in your prints. The primary flaw in this design is they engineered it so you can replace the belt without having to remove the idler pulley. This meant increasing the distance between the back of the idler pulley and the threaded adjustment plate. This severely reduced travel adjustment. On the stock Creality printer you actually have to remove the idler pulley to replace the belt and while this may seem inconvenient the benefit is increased travel adjustment. Of course the manufacturer could easily solve this issue by making the plates on either side 11 mm longer so you have the same amount of travel adjustment as the stock unit. The bottom line is this just means you're going to have to replace belts more often. Even on a brand new stock belt I'm within 1 mm of the maximum travel of the adjuster, the only choice I have is shortening the belt by about 5 or 6 mm ... show more

  • This should come standard on the Ender3
Size: X2020+Y4020 Style: Black
These products should be on the stock Ender3 printer, as they solve alignment issues that the X and Y belts have. Not only does the smaller diameter toothed pully make the axes more accurate, but they keep the belts centered and stop them from rubbing on the frame extrusions. The normal Ender3 config uses the X2020+Y4020 configuration. Installation on the Y axis would typically require you to remove the bed, but I was able to disassemble this new part in order to get the belt in it without taking the bed off. There are two spacers on either side of the toothed pulley-bearing assembly that as near impossible to fit while also feeding the belt, but I used hair spray to stick them to the sides of the new part and keep them in place while I reassembled. This was still very difficult and takes a steady hand or three. I did this because realigning the bed once you have it set is quite annoying. On the X axis, installation is easy as you can unhook the belt without removing other parts in order to feed it through the new tensioner. However, I did have to tighten the new part almost all of the way to get the tension set properly. Ideally the belt should be shorted a slight amount, but that would require adding a new crimp to it. Overall I wish I had been running with these pieces from the start, they eliminate the questions of alignment and tensioning when you are tuning the machine and working through print quality issues. ... show more

  • Easy to install when you know what your doing :(
Size: 4040 Style: Black
I'm updating my review because I realized I'm the one that messed up. I didn't realize the bed of the ender 3 is not a continuous belt and you can just pass it through. Given that fact I'm updating my review since installation is actually very easy. I still kept a star of because it's tight and hard to adjust so that it slides easily. I bought the Y-axis belt straighten tensioner and am really not fond of it. It is much more painful to install then I thought. It comes with two tiny washers that you are suppose to insert and align with the screw. You need to put the printer sideways to even stand a chance and they take for ever to line up because you can see them moving around beside the bearing. They will fall out over and over. The bracket is a very tight fit around the printer Y axis bar and scratches it. Once it is install you need the bolt that holds the pulley is hard to get right. You either have a loose bar that can move or you have it too tight which prevents you from adjusting the belt tension. I think it could be better designed with-out washers and with a different way of holding the pulley that is less finicky and more stable. I wold pay a few extra dollars for a better one. I have it installed and at least it's a cheap upgrade but I may just remove it if it gives me any more problems. ... show more

  • Great if it works for you
Size: 2020-1 Style: Black
I have a Biqu B1 and it is a bit too wide for it. Also the adjustment space does not give much adjustment. After attaching it I realized the it was maxed out on the tightening. If my belt stretches at all I will not be able to adjust to tighten anymore.
