  • Beelink 5560u and external GTX1060 on ADT dock
Having available an unused older but good Geforce GTX 1060 GPU and a power supply, I saw the opportunity to speed up my Beelink SER 5 5560U mini desktop computer at a reasonable cost. I mounted the GPU externally on the ADT-LINK M.2 Key M NVMe. With an LG 27UN850 4K, 27 inch monitor, on start up, resolution was automatically set by W11 to 3840x2160. The results were immediately noticeable and excellent, with faster booting of W11 and loading and viewing beautiful 4K highly defined and nicely colored images and videos, and no pixilation. For my Beelink plus external GPU setup, the GPU benchmark test score is 34.689, comparable to latest high end GPUs (although this number does not guarantee the GTX 1060 will run more demanding modern games at full settings.) UserBenchmark test reports: “With a brilliant single core score, this CPU (AMD Ryzen 5560U) is the business: It demolishes everyday tasks such as web browsing, office apps and audio/video playback. Additionally this processor can handle moderate workstation, and even light server workloads. Finally, with a gaming score of 85.4%, this CPU's suitability for 3D gaming is very good.” Regarding graphics, “53.3% is a reasonable 3D score (RTX 2060S = 100%). This GPU can handle the majority of recent games but it will struggle with resolutions greater than 1080p at ultra detail levels. (Note: general computing tasks don't require 3D graphics).” I’m not over clocking, so CPU and GPU temperatures are in the 50s to 60s C. The system is absolutely quiet, no fan noise. The project required preparation, aided by YouTube videos (ADT’s instructions are basic.) The ADT’s Link m.2 cable plugs into the Beelink m.2 NVME slot. To free it up I purchased a 250 GB SSD for W11 system and applications, and a one TB SSD for Dropbox documents, files, family photos and videos. The new 250 GB plugs to SATA ribbon inside the mini, and the one TB data SSD is plugs to an external USB 3.2 port via a SATA to USB cable. For the leftover original 500 GB m.2 storage card, I purchased a SATA to USB enclosure adapter. To free up the m.2 slot before plugging in the 250 GB system SSD, I moved my Dropbox folder to the one TB SSD (using Dropbox’s move instruction.) I then connected the 250 GB SSD to a USB port and cloned W11 and system from the m.2 storage to it. For the cloning, I used the trial home version of Macrium Reflect. These operations required a couple of hours. The GPU on the ADT dock, and power supply connections were straightforward and easy, thanks to keyed plugs. And YouTube videos. Everything worked on power up! W11 recognized the external GPU, installed the driver and adjusted the monitor resolution to the maximum. No configurations were required. Was it worth spending $182 on the ADT dock, two SSDs, one enclosure and a cable? Given that I already had the excellent value and current Beelink 5560U, plus a dated but good GPU and a power supply, for the maxed out 4K resolution, speed and quality I’m seeing, absolutely, yes! Would I buy it all separately and assemble? No. However, with this ADT external GPU dock and the Beelink 5560U CPU, I can keep my gear current by upgrading to more RAM memory and later to a newer more powerful GPU, especially if I return to MS Flight Sim, and maybe VR. If you’re a gamer, however, to save money in the long run, buy the right gear the first time around. ... show more

  • Nice package and a good value.
Color: R7-7735HS 24GB+1TB
Just now coming up on one week of owning this computer but to date it is flawless. The boot up and updates were accomplished with no problems. The computer itself is fast and dead quiet as far as I can tell. The video works perfectly and enabled to me to go to a higher resolution or I might say higher quality screen on my monitor. Looks great. I feel like that it was money well spent. ... show more

  • Outperforms Its 32 GB Counterpart
Beelink has made a couple of great mini PCs. I bought this line's predecessor with the Ryzen 5 at $300 about two Cyber Mondays ago. It was amazing because you got fast processing speed in a unit about the size of your palm. When I went back a couple weeks ago to try and find the same model, I realize that it was sold out. Read one of the comments where someone bought several hundred (?) units because they were replacing all the computers in their company. Yes, I'm still salty you didn't leave the rest of us some. So I went to buy the Ryzen 7 Pro Mini PC with 32GB. It was super fast but had issues dissipating heat. The fan never stopped running and eventually, it turned off because the computer was too hot. I did a little searching and found that other people had issues with it so I immediately returned it. I went and bought this bad boy which I now realize is the successor to the Ryzen 5 with 16 GB that I bought two years ago. It's faster than the Ryzen 5 (duh) and is just as good as the 32GB counterpart. I actually preferred it to the 32GB because it was simpler and more striaghtforward to set things up. It didn't have trouble dissipating heat and the fan does turn off. At $279, it was much much better than the Ryzen 7, 32 GB at $320 and the Ryzen 5, 16 GB at $300 after coupons. TLDR: Super zippy, excellent for normal day to day tasks and watching videos. Gaming and heavy use suitability undetermined. Best to buy it before the holiday months/Prime Days. ... show more

  • Hoping 3 times is the charm.
I cannot recommend this machine or this company. I purchased a machine that experienced total failure within 2 days of purchase. (Checked with a VOM and the power supply output the correct voltage but no lights or signs of life from the PC). I contacted Amazon and was immediately sent a replacement. The replacement performed well but only lasted about 10 weeks when it froze and then was unable to get passed the BIOS screen. As Amazon only guarantees returns for 1 month, I needed to contact the company to honor the guarantee. The tech support / return guarantee process has been horrible. The techs are very courteous however, frustrating as it seems they have a set check list to suggest and do not read the history of what was attempted often making the same unfeasible suggestions such as going into safe mode when the machine will not get past the BIOS start-up screens. This was suggested even after I told them I had created a tested working USB boot disk that boots on my notebook however, never gets initiated on the mini-PC due to issue of freeze at the bios. After eleven back and forth communications with this team spanning over 12 days, they finally told me to ship it back for replacement. I shipped and notified of tracking # as requested which took a week to get there. At that point they notified me that a replacement machine was not in stock and their solution was to offer me a slower processor/less capable machine as replacement (Ryzen5 vs the Ryzen7) than I purchased. Over the course of the next 3 days, they suggested two additional machines that were approximately 20% less than equivalent replacements. (also, Ryzen 5 which has 6 cores vs 8) They asked for the invoice and as I got the machine for a significant discount on a July 4th sale and they were trying match the replacement to what I paid not the configuration of what I purchased. Now 25 days since I started working with the support team I requested if they could not send me a machine at least equivalent to the one I purchased to refund my money. The next day I received communication that the unit I purchased is back in stock. Fast forward another week and as of yet I still no update on when it will be shipped. It has now been over 1 month since I contacted Bee-Link with the PC-mini failure and still I am without a PC. ... show more

  • SSD died after 2 years. Otherwise it's a good little computer.
Used for web surfing, mostly. Worked fine for over 2 years. Then the m.2 2280 SSD died. I would have expected longer life. The drive was completely dead and would not mount when tried in my dock. Luckily no major files were lost. A need SSD and windows re-install got it going. Beelink's help line confirmed which version of Windows to reinstall. They were limited due to out of warranty but their response was timely and accurate - much appreciated. Overall I'm still happy with the computer. ... show more

  • Nice little PC
I've been using this mini PC for about a month. I purchased it to replace a old Windows 10 machine which wasn't able to update to Windows 11. My use of this PC is for web browsing, watching videos and email. The quality of the box is nice. It's easy to open and access the internal components by removing 4 screws. The rubber feet provide nice cushioning when placed on a desk. The PC boots very quickly. I did clone the original drive and replaced it with a larger Samsung drive + $8 heat sink. I'm retaining the original as a backup. Boot time is about 10 seconds now. I connected it to a 4k monitor and have been able to watch Youtube videos in 4k with no dropped frames. There is a small fan in the box which, when it spins up, gives a little noise. I'd say very minimal. If you're standing 4-5ft away you can't even hear it in a quiet room. The housing stays cool to the touch even after having been on for serveral hours. I connected a watt meter and the PC draws 7 watts at idle and 20-35 watts when in use watching a video or downloading. This is far less than my previous PC used. I also installed a 1TB 2.5" SSD into the available slot. Wifi is fast and bluetooth works nicely. I've had no issues so far. I would consider this a great value if the PC provides years of service without problems. ... show more

  • impressive mini PC for home lab use
I bought this to run linux containers on it for development and home lab projects. This is a fantastic device that runs cool and has excellent performance. I did have to make some bios adjustments for boot order to allow installing Linux from a USB key and there were some quirks around it going to sleep - e.g. when sleeping there's no "breathing" power light so you can't tell if the unit is shut off completely or sleeping which is annoying if you want to move the unit and have to unplug power. but overall super happy - disk performance is stellar. i'll report back if there are any issues after it's been running a while. if you don't see an edit here, i'm likely still very happy ;) ... show more

  • Highly recommend this mini powerhouse!
I’m really impressed with this Beelink Mini PC. Despite its small size, it delivers excellent performance thanks to the Ryzen 5 5500U processor and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. It runs fast, smooth, and quiet—even with multiple applications open. The 500GB PCIe SSD makes boot-up and load times almost instant, and it’s great for everyday tasks like browsing, office work, and streaming. I even use it for some light gaming and photo editing with no issues. It’s compact, well-built, and easy to mount behind a monitor, making it perfect for home offices or media setups. Overall, a fantastic value for the performance and quality you get. ... show more
