  • By far the best!
Set name: SER5 MAX 7735U/24G/1TB
In the past I have purchased Industrial fanless mini pc's because of the robust build quality, built like tanks and last. But recently I was looking for a mini with more IO, most industrial models are lacking in connectivity, Thunderbolt, USB4 (Type-C) etc. I found several reviews for this unit on YouTube. All very positive reviews calling it the best! Not to mention the build quality! All aluminum body for durability and cooling, with fans. Without a doubt the nicest looking PC's as well. Great colors! I could go on and on about the unit but there are a number of reviews on YouTube. I will say that I was so impressed with the built quality, design features and performance of the unit, that I just punched another one. The designers didn't miss anything on this unit, the size is a plus for cooling and the fans, has two M.2 NVME drive slots, DDR5 RAM, HDMI is 2.1, USB 4 (Type-C). Finger print sensor I use each time at startup, functions flawlessly! The rubber feet are a strip, so it doesn't matter if it's an uneven surface. A pull tab to remove the bottom plate, the attention to detail, IO, performance is excellent! Dual 2.5G ethernet is also an important feature, I use both connected in bridged mode. (Win 11 Pro) I watched one review comparing the GTR to another company using the same 7940HS. A smaller, compact "cramped" cheap plastic box. It was unable to match the Beelink performance due to overheating, thermal throttling. I personally like the power supply connector, but some reviews complained about it being proprietary. NOTE: Another important feature. (I found this on the Beelink website) "If you want to use USB4 port (PD3.0 100W) for power supply, please set the TDP to 54W in your BIOS settings and use a PD charger which supports 20V voltage and maximum OCP of 6.32A. Please be sure to connect 120W power adapter to DC port for power supply if you set the TDP to 65W". ... show more

  • Unbelivable small and unbelivable fast
Set name: SER5 5500U/16G/480G
I bought this to use under my TV as a media player and to be able to browse without moving my couch patato a.. to the computer. A little about me, to put you in context: I'm a software engineer fan of Myth of Empires (One of the most demanding games on the graphics side). Now about the Beelink AMD 4700u. Installation was a breeze. I do use a domain and adding it was without any problems since it has Windows 11 Pro. Booting is pretty fast and in the same range as my desktop. When browsing there are no lags and It played 4K youtube video without any problems or frames dropped. Please keep in mind this PC does not have a graphics card but is an AMD (This is a first for me since I'm an intel guy 100%). So I told myself that it is worth giving it a try for Myth of Empires (MoE has about the same requirements as Ark Survival... they are very demanding on the graphics side). To my biggest surprise there are some very small glitches but the game is very playable using the default settings. Very rare lags, and some are expected since there is no dedicated graphics card. I can only recommend this mini PC. I think it is amazing for the price (BTW I got it in special and including tax it was 377$. So do not jump on the first price you see. Search and wait until below 400)... Update.... one year and a little after the purchase the cmos battery melted killing the motherboard.... Of course too late for warranty or return ... show more

  • Beelink SER8 mini PC - overall a good PC, with a few issues
Set name: SER5 MAX 7735HS/24G/500G
I recently purchased a Beelink SER8 / 8745HS Mini PC on Amazon. While I have a MOSTLY favorable impression of this mini PC system, there are also some negatives, which I will list below. I received the PC in good condition, and started installing Windows 11 Pro updates, and some of my basic user software. The good stuff first :-) This mini PC is REALLY FAST, and extremely quiet, with very low fan noise! Also the fan ventilation is very effective, keeping the CPU temperatures low, even under moderate CPU loads. Since I do some audio editing on my PC, low fan noise is very important to me, and this mini PC meets this requirement. The AMD Ryzen 7 processor is speedy, and the AMD Radeon display adapter plays videos smoothly, with high frame rates. It handles my older Windows 10 apps, without any noticeable difficulties. It has an audio output jack on both the front and rear panels, which is a handy feature, not found on most mini PCs. The build quality of this mini PC feels quite solid, and the brushed metal top cover looks great. There are also a few negative aspects to this Beelink mini PC. First off, I immediately noticed the poor download speed performance of the internal Intel AX200 WiFi controller. Using my home 5G WiFi connection and the built-in Intel WiFi adapter, I was only able to reach a download speed of 34 Mbps, which is really dismal. THE SOLUTION : I disabled the internal WiFi adapter in "Device Manager", and connected a TP Link AC600 external USB WiFi adapter/antenna, and was able to achieve a download speed of 174 Mbps - which is about 5 times faster! Since the $15 USB WiFi adapter performs so much better, I have left the internal Intel WiFi adapter disabled, and am using the external USB WiFi adapter all the time now. While this is a cheap fix for the WiFi download speed problem, it is also a bit of a disappointment. ( NOTE :The download performance is probably degraded because of the placement of the built-in WiFi antenna, inside the metal case. ) Other issues that I have yet to resolve, are problems with "sleep mode". One problem is that even if I set the "Power Options" setting to "Put the computer to sleep : 45 minutes", this PC does not actually go to sleep after 45 minutes! I have dug around in the other device software settings, but have been unable to fix this problem so far. The other problem with "sleep mode" is that it occasionally wakes up from manually initiated sleep mode, for no apparent reason. No clue as to why this happens, although it may have something to do with the fact that this PC is never fully asleep. This is because the SER8 system's BIOS only supports "S0 Modern Sleep" mode, which means that while it is "sleeping", Windows 11 is still running in the background, USB power is still on, and network internet activity is also happening! Apparently there is no way to disable this "feature" in the Windows 11 software, nor in the BIOS settings. While this is a very common "feature" (LOL) of most modern PC's, including Apple PCs, it is a potential network security issue, and it's also a waste of electric power. To sum up - this is overall a solid mini PC, despite the issues I have mentioned here. ... show more

  • Insanely fast, capable, and nearly silent!
Set name: SER5 MAX 7735U/24G/1TB
This things is an absolute powerhouse! We are replacing numerous Dell XPS towers with 1050Ti cards with these machines. The NVME drives in these SER8 machines is literally 10x faster than the standard SATA drives in those XPS towers and the CPU is 3-4x faster than their 8th gen i7 CPUs. The integrated graphics is 10-20% faster than the dedicated1050Ti they were using previously. The fact that they come with Win11 Pro (which DOES activate) and 32GB of ram for thar price is unbelievable. As always, I would HIGHLY recommend low-level formatting the drive and doing a fresh Win11 install from an ISO from Microsoft IMMEDIATELY after receiving the PC. Make sure to have all of the drivers downloaded from the Beelink site before you nuke the machine. The 8845HS apparently sips power, because I can't hear the fan spin up at all, even when running burn-in tests. The SER5 with a 5th gen AMD CPU really ramps up while running the same tests, so it's a great example of the efficiency of these newer chips. After exclusively spending a fortune on Dell PCs and extended on site warranties here at work, I think we're going to shift to these guys and just keeping numerous extras on hand. Who needs a warranty when these things are cheap enough to simply replace? ... show more

  • Updated. It's brilliant! If they had more I'd get another one. (GTR7 Pro)
Set name: SER5 MAX 7735U/24G/1TB
UPDATED: I was wrong. when I said "It's a great hobbyists machine, but I think it's some distance from being a work workstation yet". It's a great workstation, after the BIOS update provided by the Beelink support guys (mentioned in the old review) it's been absolutely rock solid. It does anything I throw at it. I'm sure there are games that it can't run and I don't do video editing, but it runs multiple VM's at once (A few on Virtual Box and afew on VMWare Workstation, all at once), it runs GNS3 and multiple notes at once it's not had so much as a slight stutter for anything I've made it do. Once I had the BIOS update it was brilliant! It's brilliant. If there were more I'd buy another one. OLD Review: So far the machine has been very reliable and can run most games that I have without a hitch. That said I don't play a lot of games. I have had the machine switch off once and the support team are helping me through that (We're trying to figure out exactly what happend) and I've been asked to clear the CMOS using a somewhat unusual three step process and then reinstall windows with the CMOS cleared. I have also found that the machine won't boot a virtual machine. It just won't boot the installation media, the VM reaches a certain point and then just stops. The same VM (Oracle VirtualBox) works just fine on other hardware, the same "installation media" (.iso file) works fine on other hardware, just on this little guy VM's seem to be an issue (Which I'm sure I'll work with the support team to get working). So, so far it hasn't been an unbox and use experience, it reminds me a little of the eighties when I got myself an Atari PC and had to get interface cards and whatnot to be able to use various of the functions of the PC. This one seems to have a BIOS package which isn't yet complete. That said, what it does do it does well and it's very snappy. I'd happily use a Mini PC instead of the big rig with raid array and graphics card. ... show more

Set name: EQR6 6600H/24G/500G
I added 3 4K monitors, works Great, Windows 11 is worth it and works GREAT! took NO time to learn it. This is one great powerhouse I am going to do a video on. I do Day trading LOTS of Graphics, i could swap this thing with TOS ro WEBULL Screens adn 40 Charts. It does the job for BUSINESS need no doubt has room for another M2 or SSD drive or both aside from what it has. I will replace my SONS gaming PC with one of these it is that good and I can't beat the price if I parted it out and build a mini tower. Small and I think it will be fine when it's 110 ooutside and 76 in the house on really hot days. Tons of ports I even added a UCB-C HUB where I connect the 3rd HDMIO monitor and TF card and it still has a uSB-C open plus 6 USB ports on the HUB. 2.5Gb EtherNet and I cant wait until they TOSS out USB-A AND hdmi AND JUST HAVE LIKE 8 USB-C ports that connect to the Network, Monitors, charging, phones EVERYTHING. • Nice performace on a small PC
Set name: SER5 5500U/16G/480G
The Beelink SER4 came with Windows 11 and boots quickly and feels very snappy. I am not a big gamer but did install Steam and played some older games, so I can not offer a opinion a big gammer would be able to provide. I liked that this unit has 8 CPU cores and 1 threads and is small and quiet. I will use this for video editing and running some virtual machines. I found it pretty simple to update the storage to 1TB by just removing 4 screws on the bottom of the system to reach and replace the internal NVE SSD. It also has a SATA port and space for a 2.5 laptop type drive for even more storage. I installed Linux Mint and it runs very nicely on this system. Pros: Fast CPU with 8 cores, 16G of Ram, 2.5G ethernet port, AX Wifi, 2 HDMI ports Cons: none so far. Not sure how the Beelink support is. I like this unit so much I bought another Beelink the Ser6 that came with 32G and even faster processor. ... show more
