I wanted a medium to thinner thickness pad so I can wash it a few times a year in my washer and dryer at home and not at a laundromat. The side where you tuck it under your bed is like a mesh fabric. Well made, I got California king size and it fits nicely. I just wish it has thicker pads. It is good if you have a brand new bed and you only want a bed cover topper, but if you want to add some cushion and thicker pads for an old bed , this is probably not a recommended choice.
