I’m laying on this purchase as I type this review. Very thick and cushioning. It makes the bed feel much younger. This was purchased to be a second mattress cover in rotation so one can be laundered without stopping me from getting to bed when the drier tries to dry for the 3rd cycle. The extra cushion feeling takes up a lot of space when not on the bed. I really need to work out a way to store it and basically need a ratchet strap or similar. I expected 5 layers to be much thicker and softer It is an effective but not perfect comfort topper regardless. Sadly, I did not get the lying on a cloud sensation with this one like I did with my old topper. This topper fits well. It has deep pockets. . I have not machine washed it yet. I am hopeful it fits in the machines and it survives. It looks well made. I am happy. This topper is good. It has no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted as gases from certain toppers, some of which may have some adverse health effects. This topper is safer . Overall, I am satisfied with this topper, so far. But, I do wonder if a 3” thick version of this would be better. I expected a thicker topper for the price ... show more

So when this thing arrived, I was skeptical… The box looked tiny. Slit a little hole in the packaging, and this thing rolls out like a life raft. (Amazing packaging!) We let it sit for a bit to fully fluff out. Putting it on the mattress was simple, and the stitching, elastic, and sides of the padding are top quality and well-made. The pockets are really deep, so it will fit any mattress. My new husband’s old mattress was ridiculously hard, and I wasn’t sleeping well at all. Have you made a bed with a nice soft fluffy comforter and just had to lay on it and felt how nice it was. Well that is what this is like except you can sleep on it! It didn't seem all that heavy and thick when it arrived, but once you cut open the vacuum sealed package and let it air and fluff out then you can tell how thick and heavy it is. It did not have any weird or off smell to it, but I left it for a day to air out. It's quite heavy and thick. It is recommended that when you wash it that you use a commercial heavy duty washer. The stuffing is sewn in a box pattern to keep it from clumping and moving around. The stitching is nice and strong with no loose threading hanging out. The side seams are sewn together using a mesh fabric on the edges to help ventilate the pad. So it's more of a box shape with the mesh fabric sewn all around the edges. This has deep pockets 21 inches to stretch over your mattress and has a wide about a 1.5 inch elastic band sewn on the bottom and fits under the mattress and holds the pad securely in place. So its fluffy, soft and well ventilated and I can use it for all four seasons. ... show more

I live in a very rural area in the mountains. The nearest Walmart is 45 minutes away and other big box stores are over n hour. My old mattress pas had started to get a little worn and was starting to unravel. I looked at what was available at a couple big box stores on one of my recent trips to a larger town and didn't like any of the ones I had found. Any that offered any padding were very expensive and the ones in this price range were more or less just mattress protectors. I saw this online and ordered it. I'm quite happy I did as this one is much thicker than any of the ones I looked at in person and at a much better price. It's very comfortable.
