We purchased this as an alternative to an air mattress for guest visits. It is that perfect blend between softness and firmness. I asked my husband to put it away after our guest left, and an hour later, I found him sound asleep on it! He wanted to see how comfortable it was and promptly fell asleep! We own another shikibuton from Japan, and this one is just a bit more comfortable. Unlike the kind that can be folded up and used as a low seating option, like a true shikibuton, this one looks like a mattress surface and requires a sheet or some such covering. This one is the same size as my shikibuton, but lacks the outer cover and back cushion of a shikibuton. It would also work as a mattress topper. I am pleasantly surprised at the comfort and support this cushion has. Well worth the price. It also comes with a zip up bag, which I appreciate. The bag is flimsy and not very durable, but it will work to keep the dust off when in storage. All in all, I would purchase this one again if the need arose.

Bed is very nice and firm, we let the bed completely rise and firm overnight before testing it out, and was very happy with the product, you just have to follow directions and not jump in it and than say it’s not firm if your not giving it enough time to completely inflate.

This is a ver unexpected find! I was looking for a queen “FIRM” mattress and it doesn’t feel firm. It definitely between firm and very soft cushion. It also seems like it not a queen but for a full size bed! I got my queen bed and I still half a foot of by bed frame that isn’t covered by the mattress! But I will say that it came on time.

So this is literally just three pieces of memory foam in their own cases that zipper together. But the zipper is cheap and was broken within a few weeks of use... no horse play either, just on-the-back solid-as-a-board sleep. Not to even mention that I had a latex mattress topper between me and this "mattress" to cushion any abuse that even that entailed. This to not even mention that despite ample "decompression time" taken as directed, some of the mattress segments have such weak corners that they don't just not-maintain their expected shape when weight is pressed again them... they don't even have much of a shape at all when they're just sitting there. To give you an idea of what I mean, just imagine if the corners on that photoshopped product image up top were randomly crinkled inward, permanently. Not enough to notice visually at first, but once the covers are removed they're all too obvious. This is ALSO not to mention that one whole segment (yes, one-third of this "mattress") has an edge that gives in completely to ANY pressure whatsoever. The result is that my hips wind up sinking almost to the frame below while the rest of me is fairly upheld to expectations. I honestly think the best use for this thing is a punishment for any crappy guests or children you're looking to punish with a subpar bed. There is no way you'd let anyone you cared about sleep on one of these. DO NOT BUY if you're actually looking for something approximating a mattress. Disclaimer: I am no bed snob. I have literally spent the last 7+ years on an old worn out pillowtop queen mattress that I hated. I readily accepted my floor over that for a time. This "mattress" is just really that bad. I don't think I'd use it for a gym matt. Buy At Your Risk.
