  • 3.5 stars. I like it, but I'm not fully convinced
Color: Grey Size: King
I've had this for 3 nights now and I've got some solid first impressions. I'll update later if things change. I give this 3.5 stars. I do like this product. It's my first time trying a topper so I can't compare it with others but I can comment on the before-and-after aspect. Shipping, unboxing, and install: It arrived quickly and the box was in good shape. Opened it up and everything is in a roll with a handy info packet no one is ever gonna read and an opener tool. Used the tool to slice off all the plastic (there's a lot of it), and got to unwrapping. Right away I noticed the foam had a tackiness to it as it was expanding. Pulling the plastic wrapped pillow top half off was like removing from a mild adhesive. There was some chemical smell but not bad and it dissipated quickly. I shook everything out and laid both halves out to air out. The foam expanded quickly and was full sized (as far as I could tell) within a few minutes. I still let it sit for a few hours to vent the smell, and I noticed that the tackiness went away too for the most part. I threw it on my bed that night. I had no issue with smell 4 hours out of the box (no I didn't wait the full day to use it, but let's be honest about how much batting is going to expand an hour versus 15 hours after it's exposed to air. The foam could potentially have more of an impact, but it looked and felt like it'd gone as far as it was going to). I did not put the pillow top in the dryer, just shook it out vigorously. The material all seems pretty solid. The only weak spot I noticed on putting it on was how thin the sheet part is. It could be vulnerable to rips over time. The fabric covering the pillow top is soft and feels nice, if not rugged. It's there to be soft and fluffy, and it does that. The foam is nice, the density is soft, and the tiny bit left of that tackiness was actually beneficial for setting the foam in place and keeping the pillow top where it should be. Sleeping: A lot of reviews said it sleeps really hot. If you're already sleeping on memory foam, it's consistent with that, if not a little cooler for the pillow top having some breathability. I bought this to help soften my current memory foam mattress and to alleviate my back, hip, and knee pain. I'm 5'10, 160lbs. The verdict after a couple of nights... It's good. It's nice, it's soft, it cradles you nicely. It's helped with my hip and knee pain, and I can actually lay on my back without getting restless legs which is great. It doesn't super support the spine, so my back is still kinda sore. It keeps me from tossing and turning as much which is also good. If you and your partner are separate sleepers, or you're sleeping alone, this might be more effective for you. My husband is a cuddler and our combined body weight makes for more bowl-shaped bed than body support with this topper. I'm planning on getting an extra lumbar pillow for my back and then I think I'll be good to go. Since the foam is so soft, it's really not structurally designed to push back the curvature of your spine that much so I'm not mad at it. I do find myself running my feet over the bed and stretching out more to enjoy the overall softness. I'm frankly surprised by how much of a difference it makes in the overall feel of the bed. The only other thing I can think of is that the pillow top has a bit of a hard time being consistent with the padding. It's fluff, and it's going to move around a bit, of course. The stitching pattern does a good job of keeping things in place for the most part. The edges seem to have some extra fluff and some pockets seem better packed than others, but it's far from feeling lumpy or uncomfortable. I can always run it through the dryer or shake it out again to redistribute. I'm a tiny bit wary about drying it too much as it looks like that and washing are where problems are most likely to occur so I'm putting it off as long as I can. Final thoughts: Not mad at it. So far, worth the money. Is it a game changer, sure. Is it a life changer, not really. I'm holding off on deciding if I'd buy it again to see how well it wears/holds up. Overall, pretty good though. I'm happy with it. ... show more

  • As described
This topper is well made but I find it to be uncomfortable. When I passed it on to my kids instead they both too didn’t like to sleep on it. We all felt it was too hard to sleep on and although we noticed we fall asleep faster we felt like we woke up sore. Maybe it’s just not for us.

  • Like magic!
Color: Grey Size: Twin
OK, so our son had been cosleeping for a little longer than he probably should have and complained about sleeping in his own room for various reasons. We went on vacation and he slept in his own assigned bed and when I asked what was different he said the bed is so comfy! I looked at the bed and it had a pillow top mattress. I wasn’t gonna buy whole new mattress but figured something like this was worth a try. After coming through reviews I settled on this one for the combo of a foam topper and a pillow top cover. Here’s the good and the bad. Pros: -Feels like the luxury pillow top mattress in our timeshare. Son was oh so pleased and he sleeps in his bed now! -Foam is about 2”, pillow top is near there, good enough for me. You can’t feel the mattress underneath at all. -Price is relative to the upgrade you get. You don’t have to lug in a whole new mattress and can test this out before taking the plunge on a new mattress. Especially useful for kids. Cons: -Slides a little on the mattress. If you’ve ever had a foam topper you know this can be an issue. Especially with kids that slide around and go on and off the bed multiple times a day with no regard. -Didn’t fit into the mattress protector we currently have and we don’t have a deep mattress. -Not sure if the pillow top cover will protect against spills. I hope it does because we often have some juice in bed. Just being honest, my kid snacks on the bed - just in case yours does too (or you do!). -Does have a slight smell. My son said “it smells like car gasoline!” Will update if this goes flat immediately or otherwise fails to meet our needs. Otherwise we are happy for now. Update: So cozy I came back and bought a second one for my bed! I actually think this works better on firmer beds though (and oddly enough). My bed doesn’t feel as cloud like but still amazing!! ... show more

  • Liking my BedStory more each day.
Color: Grey Size: King
We were used to a very soft memory foam mattress. The first thing we noticed was that this topper was much firmer than what we were used to. We even considered putting it in a guest room and bringing our old one back...then something unusual happened. After 3 nights, I realized that I was not waking with pain in my left knee and it no longer took 5 minutes, upon awakening, to be able to gingerly move and straighten that painful knee to crawl out of bed. I rarely have any knee pain when awake, just at night. My husband has not jumped up to walk around the room during the night with leg cramps nor gone to the fridge to drink dill pickle juice either! (Yes, it works!) The topper appears to be so all over supportive that it alleviates our pain. I had no idea a topper could even do that, but I notice that the topper touches and supports every inch of my body. I still sorta miss my very soft memory foam but I am falling asleep faster and sleeping sounder with the BedStory. We have smart watches that tell us how much deep sleep and how much light sleep we get. It's amazing how much more deep sleep we are getting. For each of us, about 1 to 2 hours more deep sleep per night than before. So right now, we are very pleased with our BedStory. I was most surprised to see that PAIN RELIEF was one of the ratings! I had never given that a thought. I think this is fast turning into a BedStory LoveStory. ... show more
