I own an old sleep-number bed and needed something to replace the broken foam it came with. This foam is more comfortable than the original. It's benefits are subtle, since it's only 2 inches thick. It's firmer and does a better job of supporting the gap between the two bladders in our bed than the previous one we had. It allowed my wife and I to reduce the amount of air pressure. We sleep just a bit better. There was a definite chemical odor when I first opened the foam but that went away after I let it air-out for a few days.

This is comfortable, but for what we use it for it is not the most durable. We have a couch that has a trundle to roll out to a queen size sleeping area. This is what we've placed over the top when we have company to make it even and comfortable. Our guests like it, but because we take it on and off and roll it up in between uses it has started to rip. If you're leaving it on the same surface, I'm sure it's fine. It's just not the hest solfor our needs.

I bought this because my mattress is very firm and not comfortable any more. The foam expanded in about 24 hours. There was no offensive smell. I was able to use it the night after I received it. I am using it on a thick mattress and the sheets just barely fit over the topper and mattress. When you lay on it, you sink in and it feels like a nice hug. It is winter right now, so I don't know if it will be too hot in summer. Overall, very nice.

The thing seems nicely made, installs easily, fits my bed, and looks ok. As to its function: it is extra firm, as it's supposed to be. The first night, I had a hard time getting comfy, and slept poorly, with lots of aches and pains. But the second night, which is all I've had so fay, was much better all the way around. I have high hopes for night 3.
