After using this for a couple of months it has functioned exactly as described in the advertisement, given quality use, is as firm as described. I was shopping for an actual firm to extra-firm topper and this is it. Our person using this nightly now reports this supports without sinking down into it, no more sore shoulders or numbing arms after a night's sleep, (side sleeper) and no problem with turning over and no uncomfortable experience of sinking downwards into it. This firmly supportive without that falling into a crater sinking that occurs with squishy types of foam. This doesn't "jiggle", collapse in on itself or fall over when stood on the floor on its side, it retains its shape and basically can stand by itself on its edge even though it is not rigid. The person here using it is an adult with a 185lbs. or so weight and this topper is retaining thickness, form and performance like new without rigidity. Side note; if someone needs to push down on their topper with their hands in order to get into a standing position from lying flat, this topper will support and give aid for that motion as opposed to much softer foam toppers, (please check your own situation for safety requirements and need, do not substitute a topper for medically necessary metal equipment, etc.). Also of note, since the person using this is larger in weight, they experience comfort from this topper as well as needed support and a significantly lighter-weight person might find this topper a bit too firm if they would be expecting to have a very soft "sink into a pillow" experience. However, this topper is comfortable! This topper is very well constructed, the value for price did not disappoint and I highly recommend this for a truly firm, supportive topper that has comfort also. There was a slight plastic odor that quickly dissipated once plastic wrapping was removed and it was odor free after the initial instructed waiting period passed. I like the heavy materials used for the covering, and the quality of firmed support this allows for even a heavier/more muscular person. Within our use, this topper is not a heat-producer like is reported with Tempurpedic foam. I definitely recommend this topper.

After my mattress started sagging and causing me bad back pain, I ordered this mattress topper to avoids ordering a new mattress for the time being! It arrived compressed, was light enough for me to put on and adjust on my bed. It said 48 hours for it to expand, but mine took more like 12. No chemical smell or anything which I have experienced with others. Fits perfectly on my queen bed and is firm but comfortable, which is exactly what I need for a good night’s rest. Feels like great quality, especially for the value it costs. I took my first nap on this thing and immediately needed to right this review because I love it so much. 5/5 highly recommend.

Edit: customer service reached out and made the situation right. Great service thank you. When I first unwrapped this and let it expand I was so excited! I loved the way it felt right away, the thickness is great, and the firmness seemed just right for me. Me. I couldn't wait to get it on my bed. After waiting the 48 hours I was able to get it onto my bed, the straps to attach it are great and super helpful, and it fit perfectly. When I tried laying down on it, I couldn't wait to go to bed because it felt so good! Here's where the problem comes in for me, unfortunately. This mattress pad is way too hot for me. I've been waking up sweating every night, and unable to fall back asleep. It is so comfortable and I wanted to love it so bad, but It just isn't for me. I am a hot sleeper, but I thought this had cooling foam that might make it work for me. It is a great product, but just not for me. I will say that I am super bummed or stressed out I guess trying to handle the return process. It is supposed to go in the original box, but now that it has expanded it is way way too big. I don't own a vacuum sealer like the other reviews are saying. I'm trying to figure out what to do before the return window closes, I will edit this and let you guys know if I figure something out! Hope this helps somebody.

We always used a firm mattress with a memory foam topper. That topper made a recovery from hip replacement very difficult for my 6'3" 200+lb husband. Was so pleased to have found this firm topper! It gave the stability of firm, yet comfortable on our old bones. Works on young as well. My daughter tried and it gave new life to her older mattress. No smells. It was more like hours rather than a day to reshape from the tiny box. Enjoying sleep again!

After sleeping on the couch for 8 months during pregnancy and early postpartum because I couldn’t get comfortable in the bed, I finally realized the issue was our mattress was too soft so I purchased this topper. The first night I felt like I was sleeping on a rock, the second night I felt like I was sleeping on a cushioned rock (granted I only let it rise for 12 hours as opposed to the recommended 72), nights 3-7 I felt like I was sleeping on a broken in cushioned rock but after sleeping on it for a few weeks I absolutely love it. I dealt with bad pelvic and back pain during postpartum that completely went away after sleeping on this topper for a week and it has become quite comfortable after breaking it in. I say if you can push through the first few weeks and give it a chance you won’t be disappointed.

This mattress is very well made but is a lot harder than I anticipated. There is no squish. It felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I got very little sleep the first night because I was uncomfortable all night. Night #2 I finally decided I couldn’t take it anymore and at midnight, I took it off my queen bed. I would like to return it, but you need to return it in a box. That’s impossible. Because it is so firm, you can’t even fold it in half, let alone get it small enough to fit in a box that would fit in my car. So now I’m out $174 and not real happy about it. I can’t even throw it away because it won’t fold enough to fit in my small garbage can. Buyer beware.
