I have an adjustable bed, so when I have it up, I can't reach my nightstand. I spend a good deal of time in bed, it's basically my office with a lap desk. :) This shelf has been invaluable! It's the perfect size to hold all things I need within reach. It's very sturdy, high quality wood and constructed perfectly! It's not wobbly, and holds a good amount of weight. In the picture is a 32 oz. water bottle, and a 24 oz. coffee cup. (The water bottle happens to be mostly empty, but when it's full the little shelf doesn't flinch!) :) I can't say enough about this shelf. I've needed one for years, and I'm so happy I found it! I have been searching for a decent under mattress bed shelf for my CPAP machine for many years, but everything I tried that was advertised for that specific purpose was too flimsy and lightweight. This shelf sat in my wish list for quite a while because it cost more than I was hoping to spend. I finally broke down and opened my wallet, and I am so glad I did! This is exactly what I was looking for. It was simple to assemble and install. It is heavy and sturdy, like an actual piece of furniture. Once installed, the weight of the mattress holds it securely in place, and the shelf does not move around if you accidentally bump it while you're making the bed. I cannot feel the part of the shelf that is under the mattress while in bed, and the raised lip around the edge of the shelf is just high enough to keep the CPAP machine from sliding off the shelf if I get rambunctious in the night and tug on the tubing. My only regret is that I waited so long to buy it. ... show more

I have a king sized bed in my smaller bedroom. This works perfectly as something sturdy to place small essentials on that I’d normally place on my nightstand. It sticks out right in my doorway but still allows room for usage of the door as well as the walkway. Didn’t disappoint.

I purchased this shelf for my wife so that she would not be fumbling around on her cluttered nightstand. It turned out to be just the solution for her clutter. she is able to put her tablet and phone as well as lotions and chapstick on this portable shelf. I love the fact that it is able to fit into a small space by just placing the table between the mattress and box spring. The assembly was very simple and only required 3 screws (included with shelf). For a small shelf I was very impressed with the sturdiness of the construction, I believe that it is made of bamboo. The only con that I can think of is that although it is made for small spaces be sure to measure the space that you are trying to use the shelf in, I had to rearrange a little bit for it to fit by the bed. I was browsing for a table in my dorm room and then I stumbled upon this, and thought it would be more space efficient. Once I realized how much it was I took it out of my shopping cart. Then I put it back once I realized that I couldn't find a regular table cheaper. When I first saw it (I purchased the black one that just slides in) I thought it was just a piece of wood that I could probably make myself. But it's very lovely. Sturdy, finished nicely, the perfect size, and has little notches for cords. It came in two pieces and is very easy to assemble. Works so well for my Mom with chronic neuropathy and arthritis. She is 84 years old and has two bed side tables. She’s in bed a lot so we prop her up in bed with pillows. She is able to go to the bathroom so we cannot trap her in by moving the table next to her. Unfortunately, she cannot reach back to her bed side table without extreme pain and a loss of her arm control. We are so happy with this invention. My Mom can reach her beverages, pills, and books steadily and without pain. She really feels empowered. This amazing product should include elderly, and all people that have range of motion problems.
