I have been searching for a decent under mattress bed shelf for my CPAP machine for many years, but everything I tried that was advertised for that specific purpose was too flimsy and lightweight. This shelf sat in my wish list for quite a while because it cost more than I was hoping to spend. I finally broke down and opened my wallet, and I am so glad I did! This is exactly what I was looking for. It was simple to assemble and install. It is heavy and sturdy, like an actual piece of furniture. Once installed, the weight of the mattress holds it securely in place, and the shelf does not move around if you accidentally bump it while you're making the bed. I cannot feel the part of the shelf that is under the mattress while in bed, and the raised lip around the edge of the shelf is just high enough to keep the CPAP machine from sliding off the shelf if I get rambunctious in the night and tug on the tubing. I purchased this shelf for my wife so that she would not be fumbling around on her cluttered nightstand. It turned out to be just the solution for her clutter. she is able to put her tablet and phone as well as lotions and chapstick on this portable shelf. I love the fact that it is able to fit into a small space by just placing the table between the mattress and box spring. The assembly was very simple and only required 3 screws (included with shelf). For a small shelf I was very impressed with the sturdiness of the construction, I believe that it is made of bamboo. The only con that I can think of is that although it is made for small spaces be sure to measure the space that you are trying to use the shelf in, I had to rearrange a little bit for it to fit by the bed. This works perfectly for my small space. The slide version is great for a platform bed, just slides under the mattress. I was concerned that it might be wobbly since it doesn’t clamp onto anything but have had no issues. It’s very sturdy.

This is the perfect size for the bed in my camper. I use it to hold my CPAP. there is enough room for my backup battery to fit between CPAP and the matress. The lip is tall enough to hole everything in place without having to use any type of strap.
