When my OE Denso plastic radiator top cracked at 165k miles, I decided to replace hoses, clamps, thermostat, along with another Denso radiator, all here at Amazon. The previous original equipment thermostat was working fine. I just figured it was time to replace it along with the other parts for future peace-of-mind. When I first got all the parts in, it was November, quite cold outside, and yet the car warmed up just fine, heater worked well too. The next time I drove it however, the car and heater failed to warm up, even after 10-plus minutes of operation, sometimes if cold it barely ever warmed up. I was so concerned I had to drive to work with a sheet of corrugated cardboard slipped in front of the radiator, otherwise it ran too cold for highway speeds. I reluctantly removed it for examination, because it had definitely been stuck open for several drives. To my dismay, it came out and looked OK, properly in the closed position at room temperature. Then I replaced it with the OEM thermostat and that old one worked great! It heats up quickly and then opens and holds at the proper temp, just below mid-way up the dashboard dial. Heat blows like a furnace in 5 minutes when it's 30F outside, now December. I theorize that the tiny tickler air-bleeder vent fitting, which was placed properly at 12 noon, had interfered with the closing of the mechanism, or else this Beck Arnley just failed, opening quickly at maybe 100F. Too bad, because it looks like a good quality T-stat, complete with new neoprene gasket. AMAZON was great with an instant refund on my credit card, contingent upon me mailing it back promptly. Once they got it back, they notified me by email that they had refunded my postal cost for the return. I couldn't ask for better return service ... Meanwhile if you're shopping for a T-stat on an older Camry, I'd suggest the fatter designs along the lines of the OEM part, also sold here. I'm probably going to keep my old one in place until ... the next radiator replacement! ... show more

Perfect fit. Takes maybe 5 minutes to install plus adding some coolant. The car had ok heat but the gauge would never go past a 1/4 of the way up. Now the heat's almost unbearable and the needle sits at halfway when warmed up. Comes with gasket,
