  • One of the very best airflow fans on the market
Size: 140mm PWM high-speed Style: Silent Wings 4
I was looking to get the best low-noise but high performance fan for the single output of my case to balance with the 4 low-noise fans I had running for air intake. Originally I had Fractal Design Dynamic GP14 fan that came with the case but I swapped that to be an additional input when I upgraded to a higher powered Corsair ML140 Pro. With the Corsair fan performance was decent but I found it seemed to get a bit noisy at moderate speeds. Realistically, my cooling setup was always more than adequate, I didn't have any temperature issues whatsoever, but I am a bit of a nerd for good air cooling and just like upgrading something once in a while and it seemed like there was room for improvement here. I had the corsair for several years but I would occasionally do research on fans or watch the latest reviews and comparisons of fans on youtube. Eventually the time felt right that I felt like spending the money and that there were some good options to upgrade to. This fan has been a definite improvement capable of moving more air at lower sound levels. I also like that it has the headroom to push to even higher speeds than I need with my current setup just in case I ever feel like it or was trying to max my performance having fun overclocking and benchmarking. I didn't bother to do any recorded tests of my temps but my subjective experience has been that I am very happy with the performance as I created a fan curve for it that gives me what I want airflow wise and my computer remains quieter than it did before. I also stepped away from having my computer with so many LED lights so the transition to a fan without lights worked for me. A few months ago I made significant upgrades to my processor and my video card and this still handles everything I can throw at it with ease and quietness. I have been super happy with the performance of this fan and will definitely have them in mind next time I am building a system. ... show more

  • Best 140mm silent fans on the market
Size: 140mm PWM high-speed Style: Silent Wings Pro 4
I’ve tried a lot of high-end fans from Noctua, Phanteks, Lian Li, Arctic, etc, and I was really surprised with how good the SWP 4’s are. In some ways IMO they are one of the best 140mm fans on the market, if not thee best. Let me explain why. In terms of brands the two best fans I’ve ever used are the Noctua NF-A12 G2’S and the Phanteks T30. Like the SWP 4’s they both strike the perfect balance between high airflow and silent operation. HOWEVER, the reason why I ended up going with the SWP 4’s is because (1) the Noctua G2’s only come in their distinctive yet fugly brown color, and (2) Phanteks still hasn’t released a 140mm version of the T30. So essentially, if you need black 140mm fans that are both high performing and silent, the SWP 4’s are currently the best option on the market today. They’re also a very attractive fan with high quality cabling so if you’re into aesthetic building like I am they look great on a radiator. In terms of how quiet they are, I have them in my SFF PC which sits directly on my work desk and while idle my PC is completely silent. But even at higher RPM my PC sounds similar to an air purifier - no vibrations, motor sounds, droning, etc, just a pleasant and subtle rush of air akin to white noise. Overall I definitely recommend these fans especially if you need 140mm. ... show more

  • Seems to function well when intact on arrival
Size: 120mm PWM ultra-high-speed Style: Silent Wings Pro 4
Revising from 1-star to 5-star. Replacements that arrived intact include high-quality sleeved cables and exchangeable corners to fit different use scenarios. I replaced 4 of my 120mm case fans with these and added another to my Scythe Tuna 2 CPU cooler. These are almost completely inaudible at default settings. But, they can run as high as 3000 rpm if you set a switch on the rear to ultra-high-speed. Though, it is advisable to set them to PWM mode in BIOS or a third party utility like Fan Control and then set a fan curve. That allows the fans to run very quietly at lower hardware temps and ramp up speeds at user-defined temps. This is especially helpful when using PBO or manually overclocking. ... show more

  • The best fans hands-down
Size: 140mm PWM Style: Silent Wings 4
No other fans come close if you value a quiet build. I can curve my fans quite high with these and still have minimal noise impact. The build quality is outstanding and they move plenty of air. I have three of these 140mm PWMs (two bottom intake, one top exhaust) and one high-speed 120mm PWM (rear exhaust) in an mATX case (Jonsbo z20) and it cools just fine. I may add one more top 140mm once price/inventory stabilizes just because there's room. They are not the cheapest fans by any means, but you get what you pay for, and in my opinion it's really not worth cutting corners on fans in general. Just do it. ... show more

  • Silent, powerful, cold
Size: 120mm PWM high-speed Style: Silent Wings 4 White
Silent, powerful, be careful when testing it, the wings are really sharp, I cutted my fingers into blood, and broken one fan. Amazing design ( not so silent in my build, bad airflow, IN MY BUILD ONLY)

  • Best in Class
Size: 140mm PWM high-speed Style: Silent Wings Pro 4
I bought a bunch of fans, including a Noctua and an Arctic P14 Max for consideration. This one was by far the best, with the most mounting options (saved my bacon on a tight clearance bay), the best quality (cable wraps, manufacturing tolerances, etc), and a very low noise floor. Moves great air for the RPM. Easy to install. Kind of expensive but worth it. ... show more
