Understandably, high power PSUs come with very loud fans. In the case of the EVGA 1600P+ (which is a modified FSP Cannon Pro 2000W), the fan that comes with it is rated at up to 45 dB from the fan manufacturer's data sheet. The PSU itself has an "Eco mode" where the fan only kicks in for a little bit under light load and to keep the PSU silent for longer. However, with the stock fan, you can still notice when it's running at the lowest speed, and at its fastest speed the PSU becomes the loudest thing in the system. Reviews are consistent: the fan on the thing gets loud indeed. So what does the Pure Wings 2 have to do with this? Well for three big reasons: ✅Low starting voltage (important in my case because the PSU fan voltage only goes from 4.6-8.4V) ✅Higher speed operation compared to other 140 mm fans ✅Cost-effective, low noise performance with a more pleasing sound profile All of the above make it the perfect fan replacement for this particular PSU. Of course, there needs to be modification done as the stock fan is a 135 mm one and this is a 140 mm. And also, this voids your PSU warranty, but if you're trying to have your cake and eat it too, this fan is the last piece of the puzzle. I have not experienced any overheating after replacing the fan with the Pure Wings 2, so all is good. ... show more

-wow this fan is quality , it actually has a heavy feel too it , material used is superb unlike some of these light weight cheap plastic fans , - it moves alot of air even at lower rpm speeds, very impressed with how well it cools my pc - using 2 of the as my front intakes , my pc temps dropped compared to the stock case fans - only con is like most fans on the market , it can get loud after 1200 rpm , i have it set to around 1350 rpm and it doesnt bother me , full 1600 is just too loud for my liking ... show more

I bought this to replace a 12 year old case fan that finally died. It moves more air than the old fan (I can feel more of a cool breeze under my desk). It's quiet. The only thing I noticed is that the holes did not *exactly* line up with the holes for the existing case fan. They were off by ~1-2 mm -- so not much -- but enough that the screws were not perfectly straight. That could be the fan, the case, or both.
