  • Solved a difficult ITX-mini desktop heat problem.
Style: Pure Rock LP
I have an ITX-Mini industrial type all-in one ultra-slim open air mesh frame chassis & motherboard with an i7-4790S cpu, that has been a beast to tame workload heat, in this smallest of form-factor chassis, in an open to the elements temperature environment, and much to much dismay, and satisfaction, the Be Quite! Pure Rock LP finally solved my CPU heat throttling problems. The original OEM installed CPU cooler was essentially the basic original Intel aluminum lug & fin, topped with a fan, reference CPU cooler, but cut down to very low 37+mm profile to fit in an ultra-slim desktop chassis. Searching for better replacements I found the Noctua NH-L9i cooler was a few mm's tool tall to fit in the chassis, and that it had height tolerances problems in the CPU clearance zone underneath the CPU cooler. An ARCTIC Alpine 12 LP did fit the clearance issues, and had lower noise, and power use; however still being based on an aluminum lug & fin design, (no heat pipes), still was not able to keep up with sustained temperatures, under even moderate loads. When Be Quite announced their new LP cooler and that it was a copper heat pipe design, fit into the most minimal/maximal dimensions limits allowed for CPU cooler tolerance zones, and could tame even newer generation CPU's, I was skeptical. But as a still last ditch resort to keep a workhorse computer thermally tamed, I decided to purchase one, give a try, with the clearance issues, see if I could even get it installed, and if it could improve on the Alpine LP. Mission successful !!! The install was razor shave close cut; not even micro-micrometers to spare in clearance tolerance all the way around, after mounting; from the top of the fan just barely touching the chassis cover, and with the CPU cold plate fit and around & underneath the cooler; including the cooler and mounting bracket just barely fit over a row of power capacitors sitting just below the bracket. The mounting certainly is "flexible" but this turned out to be a benefit, after getting the mounting brackets and screws tightened into place. The bracket installation wrench provided & needed to tighten the CPU mounting bolts, (not the mounting screws), had some difficulty getting around tight part clearances, that were right up and into the CPU cooler clearance zone, but I was able to work the wrench enough to secure the mounting bolts to the brackets; then tighten the mounting screws. After turning the system back on, immediately I noticed a 10-20 deg F. reduction, as compared to typical temps with the Alpine LP. And even with now spring summer temperatures coming on, and the ability to cool the cpu is being impacted by increase in ambient air temps, the Be Quit! LP has continued to maintain the heat dissipation, through all load testing; most notably that CPU is staying below throttle temperatures where; the OEM installed could never do, and Alpine LP could barely keep up with! Additionally noticed is that the noise level was way down, even at full RPM the Be Quit! Any fan noise had a slight low hum winy noise, but only noticeable at maximum RPM. Overall, this CPU cooler solved a long and ongoing cooling problem in a very minimalist chassis install, and it does it with no no high speed fans, or related added noise. ... show more

  • Phenomenal CPU Cooler
Style: PURE ROCK 2 Black
Pros - My CPU came with a cooler out of the box, however it took up space in the worst way possible. Even though the Be Quiet! CPU cooler's heat sink is MASSIVE it scales upwards before it starts scaling outwards which allows you access to ALL the necessary parts of your motherboard while providing a huge heatsink which helps keep things cool - The Fan can be fit to your needs and blow either direction, it fits nicely on the CPU cooler - Pins that hold the fan are TIGHT which provides piece of mind that the fan won't come down tumbling on top of the GPU or other components - This thing runs cold, like really cold. Out of the box my CPU was running at 30C with this CPU Cooler. I decided to overclock my CPU to the recommended max overclock and it still remains under 45C under heavy gaming load and during all stress tests. - Comes with every mounting brace imaginable to man, it will fit on your motherboard there are brackets for multiple motherboard options and it comes with a simple assembly guide to help you attach it correctly - Comes with thermal paste ready to go and it applies nicely Cons - I wasn't aware of which way the CPU Cooler was supposed to be facing. So I had to detach and reattach within a 5 minute time frame, which wasn't fun with the thermal paste, but it worked out; I used this in my first PC build, so just make sure you know which way your motherboard is going into your case so you can assemble it with the words "Be Quiet!" not facing upside down in your case Overall - I'd buy again. No complaints. I'm not sure how it fairs to those in the price range but I feel like i got my money's worth - My CPU is happy and running cool - I have not heard the fans on this thing once, can't hear them during stress tests, gaming, or anything else, which is awesome ... show more

  • Fantastic
Style: Pure Rock LP
Needed a new fan on an old rig. (the mount broke on the old fan and it was grinding like Tony Hawks proskater). It was so loud, like jet engine loud. And the cpu was hitting 100 degrees C!! After a quick repaste and fan swap it went down to 55-65 C. I even dialed up the fan to max speed and it was pretty quiet. We'll done. Great product. The LP version took a little phenagling to mount, but nothing too hard. ... show more

  • So silent I thought it was broken!
Style: PURE ROCK 2
Coming from a stock CPU cooler and having constant noise from it especially on boot up, it would have a gust of air flow giving a great audio que when the power button is pressed. Now, with the new cooler, I find myself trying to figure out if I pressed the button as it is so quiet. Outside of that, it provides great temperature management. Only problem I had with installation was attaching the fan brackets, but I'm going to say that was more user error on my part. ... show more

  • You definitely should replace your stock cooler
Style: PURE ROCK 2 Black
With the stock amd wraith cooler on my ryzen 5 5600 I was reaching near 90⁰ C when running a cinnebench test. With this cooler, my cpu doesn't get over 68⁰ C. If you're still using the stock cooler that your cpu comes with, you should definitely get this cooler. It also is so much quieter than the whiney stock cooler. It is well worth it for $45. Plus the all black looks badass. ... show more

Cooling is great . Only issue is the ARGB my mobo has rgb header . So now a adapter must be purchased for lighting .. aside from that the instructions are terrible for anyone who is not highly familiar with this 1151 bag should be name instructions more clear .. aside from that all works great .. u can see how it clears nicely using Corsair higher ram . Fits NR200P CASE PERFECTLY . Check pics ... show more

  • Excellent CPU cooler and suer quiet!
Style: PURE ROCK 2 Black
Excellent CPU cooler and suer quiet! PC is much quieter with this fan and runs very cool. I was going to buy a bigger version (Dark Rock Pro 4) but it was to big. Not all computer cases can fit it. Measure your case. If it fits Dark Rock Pro4, go for it. If not, Pure Rock 2 will do.
