It opens low is perfect height for the recliner we have at home so it makes it easy to transfer the baby into the bassinet. I like that one side of the bassinet can go lower than the other side so if he had reflux or spit up at night he won't chock but also it is good if he has a runny nose. I think those are my 2 most important things so I'm going to keep it my friend saw it and wanted to get one for her new born I use it for my 6 month old and it holds him good he only 14 pounds baby

I really want to love this bed. I am not one to complain and have never written a bad reviews among the thousands of amazon purchases I have made but the smell of chemical is giving me a headache and im not the poor baby laying in it. I am not typically sensitive to smells at all but it nearly burns my throat having this next to my bed side. No exaggeration. I love eveything else about it. Only other slight issue I have when raisin the height, you have to hold the bottom piece down otherwise you just life the whole side of the bed off the floor. I have reached out for support and no luck. Will most likely return as I don't want to ruin it trying to clean it myself. Customee service sent me a free replacement so please
