    • nearly a year and a half later & its still my go to bar
Been using Basis for over a year and a half already, that I have to hide it from family. I think I have reviewed this product before about a year ago and I continue to pack this 6 pack about once a month to replenish my stockpile of the soap. A little background, since a child, I have had sensitive skin. I'm a light skin Hispanic and unlike my mother who is slightly darker, I've always had dry skin problems like my father from my face, arms and every where else. Its always been uncomfortable experience as I had to heavily rely on moisturizer and I had to stay away from certain bars growing up. So a few years ago I decided to shop else where to find brands I couldn't find locally, which lead me to Amazon. I bought and tried several non familiar brands and eventually came across Basis mostly because of the positive reviews. For me, Basis has been a blessing for my skin. the fragrance isn't to strong but does have a nice mild scent to it which makes it pleasing when taking a shower. I never feel like I have a lot of residue yet it lathers excellently on my skin. I never itch after walking out of a hot shower and my skin feels good. I use to rely on Men's Dove when it hit the market about 4 years ago, give or take but it was still drying out my skin and I always felt a residue on my skin afterwards. not with Basis vitamin bar. As of now I cant see myself using any other bar. Its to the point that when I travel, I always pack a bar with me, where as before I would enjoy using the boutique hotel brand bars of soap that I even took a few of them with me home. The only one besides this soap bar that I still use actually from a hotel (like Neutrogena does for Hilton Hotels) is H2O products when I traveled and stayed a in Florida at the Disneyworld Resorts yet I have nothing bad to say about H2O and their products except that buying from them is extremely expensive. Basis is the best of both worlds for me as far as having a good quality bar and at affordable price when you compare it to other high end soaps and some other boutique brands. ***Update September 2018. its been a good 3 and a half years since my review, and its STILL my Go To Bar. I'm still using Basis Vitamin Bar religiously. I got married in 2017 and since my mail and deliveries still go to my parents address, I've found out that my family had been stealing my supply. Which is fine because it made them fans of the Basis bars. My father is a retail pharmacist and some of the grocery store pharmacies he worked for in the past use to carry Basis products but that hasn't been the case for many years. My mother is a fan of both the vitamin bar and the Sensitive white bar. Prices on Amazon fluctuate between $11 to $14 for the pack of 6. So I have to regulate my orders of the pack of 6 to once a month since I also use body washes as well. ... show more

    • Great for Your Skin and Your Wallet
I bought the Basis simple bar Basis Sensitive Skin Bar, 4 Ounce Bars (Pack of 6), good soap and I really liked it. The only downside as it was fairly soft compared to other soap bars so it while it was easy to lather it also seemed to disappear more quickly. I bought this soap hoping it would be as good if not better then the Sensitive skin bar and it was. This stuff for one smells better, kinda like vitamin C if that makes much sense. Even when using it in the shower the smell is more indicative of soap; the sensitive skin smells like nothing, which is good as well. But using this bar soap I feel like my skin feels better then the Basis sensitive skin. After showering my skin feels clean but also soft with no evidence of soap residue. The smell of the bar however quickly fades away once you get out of the shower, you can still smell it if you put your arm right to your nose but you just smell well, you don't if you see what I mean. This too in my book is an A+. Overall I think this is the best bar soap I've ever used. I can tell it saves me money because bar soap is cheaper but I also think my skin thanks me for it too. Pro tip though, don't let this soap sit in water after you get out of the shower, make sure it dries or the soap softens up quite a bit. ... show more

    • Best all-around soap you can find!
My husband and I are both Seniors and we both love and use this soap. His skin is sensitive and we do not have a water softener in our new house yet. This soap saves the day for him! My skin is just old and this soap helps keep it moist and wrinkle-free (almost). It lasts forever, has no strong scent, and leaves our skin feeling super clean.     • Makes hands soft and not dried out or flaky
I already use Basis for my shower. I swim daily in a pool and Basis removes the chlorine smell. This product doesn't remove chlorine but makes my hands and the backs of my hands very soft. The skin on my hands is otherwise cracked and peeling from regular soaps. I will definitely continue to buy this product. I do not notice a scent. ... show more

I used the same soap for 20+ years, everything makes me breakout or dry skin. I had one soap that worked magic. After that was discontinued, and a long search--this Basis soap is my daily. I would recommend a try for anyone who reacts to various products.
