The sparex no 2 was not included this way, some with massive clumps in it was just thrown into a Ziploc bag with no instructions that would come on normal packaging. Also the magnesium block did not come with with a note saying it was on back order and that it will be weeks before it will be mailed out. Neither is ok especially when you are spending this much money. ... show more

    • Good starter kit with everything to get started
Not my first order from PMC Supplies and won’t be my last. Kit has all the basics to get started and learn if soldering is something you’ll enjoy. The only thing needed separately will be butane fuel as they don’t sell this (very easy to find and not expensive).

Exactly as described, and cheaper than other places I found this. Doesn't come with butane fuel; order that on your own. I forgot mine, so I had to wait a few extra days to get started. Update: I've tried it out and it works great! The flux was a little dry, but I added some distilled water and it bounced right back. The solder paste is so easy! I'm a total novice but I am pretty proud of my first attempts! ... show more

A decent starter pack for beginners, my only gripe is that the torch stopped working after the second use so I had to go buy another one and the pickle pot doesn't have any temperature control. Aside from that, everything arrived in one piece.

You'll need a few more things for options pending on your project. Shipping was a little slower than I wanted, due to excitement. But it's a great starter kit.
