Fantastic plant shelf! I ordered one and was so happy with it that I've ordered 2 more. This shelf was easy to assemble and is quite sturdy. It fits together like typical metro racking and I just zip tied the grow lights on. I lined up 2 shorter shelves up top and successively taller shelves on the bottom half when assembling. It's been great to start seedlings up top, closer to the grow lights, and then be able to move them to the taller shelves below as they've grown. The plastic cover fits nicely and is easy to open/zip for access to the plants inside. I appreciate the side panels in the plastic that can be opened for ventilation & reducing humidity inside. Thermometer and timer work great, although thermometer is only in Celsius. I've not used the moisture monitor, so can't comment on that. The shelves roll smoothly on the sturdy caster wheels and make it great for clean up around the shelves. I like that there are plastic shelf liners included as they add stability and contain the mess. Overall, for the price, these are fabulous little indoor greenhouses for starting & growing seedlings. They can be moved around quite easily and are easy to assemble. Will be putting the 3rd one up permanently indoors for growing microgreens & herbs, while the other 2 will be put up & taken out again for next fall's seedling adventures. GREAT BUY! ... show more

edit: I had to buy a whole pack of 6 new lights because the outlets connecting each light were different than the ones that came with the shelf (included lights were 2 prong and all the other lights offered are 3 prong). But they reached out and refunded me the cost of the replacement lights so bumping up the rating for good customer service The shelf & cover is nice, does what I was looking for, but was also one of the only options that fit my size restrictions and wasn't crazy expensive. Not a 5 star because one of the lights got mold in it & started flickering which was surprising because the considering the cover is meant to trap humidity I thought the lights would be durable in this type of environment. My humidity monitor always read around or below 60% (checked it was accurate too). I also made sure to open the vents/the main flap and had fans (4 PC fans!!) so there was always good circulation. Emailed the company about replacements and they said "The working environment for the lamp should be between -4°F to +104°F (-20°C to +40°C) and under 80% relative humidity" and gave a 7% discount code. They also don't have any replacements for these specific lights either (T5 2ft 5000k 30W), so you'd have to buy a whole different (and more expensive) set. So they really weren't any help and assumed user error on my part. Also a 7% discount for their product molding is kinda crazy IMO. These lights really should have been able to sustain the humidity given that was the entire purpose that I got this whole thing as a set. ... show more

EDIT: Customer service reached out and offered me a full refund, and I was able to keep the product. I do appreciate their effort to make it right! I really wanted to like this because I’ve had a pretty good experience with the other Barrina products I've purchased but everything about this stand is pretty awful. First, the shelves: The wires are bent and warped on every shelf, on some shelves in multiple places. When I contacted customer service about this, they said Amazon must have damaged them during shipping and to use a hammer to straighten them back out. Putting aside the hammer comment which is pretty ludicrous advice for a $230 product, the damage is on the interior of the shelves (which were packaged quite well), and not the edges or outer rims where you’d expect to see shipping damage. So it seems highly likely that they were junk to begin with. Installation: It's impossible to get the shelves installed level because you have to hammer them over these clips, and there’s no way to ensure that they are hammered over each clip to the same degree. Spoiler alert: There’s a lot of hammering involved in this set up. Lights: It’s very challenging to wire the lights as they have these huge rubber gaskets on the ends which require excessive force to get the cords over and makes it very hard to have a secure connection. And one of the lights doesn't even work at all. Timer plug: You can’t use this with a smart plug which is a major shortcoming. If the lights are already on, the smart plug will turn them off, but when the smart plug goes on again, you still have to press the power button on the cord to turn on the lights. Bottom line: I thought I could save some money by getting this instead of converting another IKEA cabinet into a greenhouse, but it was a terrible idea and I'm going to have to take this whole thing apart, re-package it, and return it…and then go back to IKEA anyway. Do not waste your time. (Customer Service did offer me a $15 discount to keep it.) ... show more

Best reasonably-price setup that fits multiple 10 x 20 trays. This comes very nicely packaged. My complaint is that it is hard to make it look nice with all of the cords. The cords are bright white, which counterintuitively are less visible than black in front of a window or a white wall, but cannot be wrapped around the frame without looking super-obvious. The light reflectors do their job, but they slide around while adjusting light height. They should snap in place and never move. It is necessary to adjust lights height often while seed-starting, and it is not as easy as I’d hope. The shelf is very sturdy and the wheels work well. Not all of the wheel components are powdercoated black and that make the look less attractive. ... show more

This set up has been great the last few months. My only complaint is that one of the lights turned yellow yesterday and now it won’t change back. There’s no button to change the light hue so I’m not sure if this one light malfunctioned or what. Could someone from Barrina reach out to me about this? I would appreciate it ... show more

My expectations were high for this product and they delivered. It's not quite 5 stars but it's close, if I could give this a 4.7 I would. I purchased this to start seeds for my vegetable garden after a pitiful attempt using a seed starting tray/dome/light combo which was too dim and crapped out after 6 weeks. Initially I looked into pricing out the same type of product by buying all the elements individually but you just can't get the same quality for the price (on sale for $180). For a comparable product you would only get a 4-tier shelf, plastic connectors....you would still have to buy shelf liners, lights (likely 2 packs or very expensive large lights), and a timer to say the least. Not to mention the shelves have a lip which helps keep everything contained. When I received the package 2 out of 5 lights had defects that prevented the light shields from being installed. I reached out to Barrina customer service and they were more than helpful! While replacement lights were unavailable they were able to offer me a partial credit. They were so very prompt in answering their emails, it was unbelievable. Chris was beyond helpful! Things that would make it 5 star: if there were straps attaching the tent to the unit, if there was an option to purchase an PE tent cover instead of the PVC cover, if the lights were T8 rather than the T5 included, if the lights were dimmable or if you could change the light mode (color spectrum). But seriously if you are on the fence just buy it. It's a great beginner/intermediate grow set without crossing into professional or expensive territory. Not to mention Barrina customer service is top notch, if there is any issuenit will be promptly addressed! ... show more
