🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Barrina Grow Light has been reviewed as a top-quality veg light, promoting rapid and strong plant growth. Despite this, some customers described it as poor for flowering. It is a sturdy construction with an adjustable panel and a brightness that impresses, but there are are issues of heat production and incorrect wattage output. Some buyers also faced problems with the hanging mechanism and were displeased with the sharp aluminum panel.

Pros

  • 🌱 Excellent for promoting vegetative growth
  • 💪 High-quality, sturdy construction
  • 😎 Very bright and adjustable, catering to various plant needs
  • 🎯 Effective coverage for a 4x4 veg area

Cons

  • 🌼 Poor performance for flowering plants
  • 🔥 Produces a significant amount of heat
  • 💡 Not delivering the full 200 watts as advertised
  • 🔗 Issues with hanging mechanism causing instability
  • 🔪 Aluminum panel has sharp edges that can be hazardous

Should I Buy It?

If what you require is a veg light that allows for strong and rapid growth, and you can overlook potential heat and installation concerns, this product could be a worthy consideration for you. However, if you're looking for a light that supports flowering or requires lower heat output, this may not be the best fit.

Well built and powerful light. Love the daisy chain Wish I knew about this before I purchased my other lights. This will cover a 4x4 with no problem. Heat is fine I am at 74 degrees. I will by this product again.

I was under the impression that the price point was low and that it would be good only for seedlings and veg. I was wrong, I turned it up and cooked my plant. I have since raised the light and lowered the intensity by a 1/3. The seedlings are praying to the light so I’m pretty sure the more mature one is getting light. I chatted with A.I. and was made aware that modern LEDs are just efficient! My advice would be give it a try. It surprised me and I’ve been growing for awhile. There’s room to raise the light and increase the intensity. 4x4x80in. Tent. Great job Barrina ... show more

When it comes to growing indoors I have been doing it for over 30 years, and I have seen a lot of sales gimmicks used to sell lights. This one is no gimmick in what’s advertised. I have had it for a total of 25 days and have watched these peppers go bonkers with fruit production as well as leaf growth. Currently running at 50% power to allow the plants to fully adjust and a minimal grow environment, no tents or extra fans. The light runs plenty cool, absolutely silent, is easily filling a 3x3 grow space. I actually had to make simple light reflector out of aluminum just to help keep light from blinding us and keep light a little more concentrated on the grow zone. Even with the little reflector every plant in my den a 10x10 area is responding well. Before I purchased this I was a little apprehensive by the lack of ability to to offer veg / fruiting, or a combination of spectrum’s and the lack of UV spectrum. Now that I have used it I can assure you that it’s not necessary for optimal growth. I have managed all of my growth parameters with the intensity setting and light height along with nutrient levels. Good construction, adjustable wings to help with light spread, linkable, adjustable intensity, even spectrum distribution, top of the line hanging and height adjustment, along with great pricing make this light an absolute necessity. I wish I had more equipment to give the scientific results but as an advanced Gardner I can say this is far beyond any expectations I had. Thank you Barrina for an outstanding product, I will definitely be buying more to put in my greenhouse as well as leaving updates to functionality and longevity if needed. If you’re looking for a light to truly cover an area bigger than a couple feet and still produce fruits, flowers or vegetables look no further this is it. ... show more

    • Great light for healthy plants
Size: 15.36"×15.36"
The plants are really happy under this light. Tried other lights they either failed after a while or the plants were not as healthy. By far I had the best results with this light. And for the money is a great buy

    • Cheapest 4x4 capable light?
Size: 15.36"×15.36"
I just got this light in today and installed it. Let me start by saying I researched every other LED grow light on the market. This light has a 16" footprint but can cover a 4x3. Its small profile and really sleek and solid design. I'm glad I didn't pay twice as much for other grow lights since this one does just about everything at 200W!! I install lights for a living and anything else with 12-4160Volts for that matter. And let me tell you, it was only going to be a matter of time before the fast pace and ever changing LED market started pricing out these "grow light" companies. All the misconceptions around growing cannabis lead people to believe things like "the ballast is the most important part of any light". Well sorry folks an expensive meanwell driver works just as good as the cheap ones. I've put Chinese drivers throughout entire million dollar buildings and trust me developers are realizing that an LED strip behind a diffuser is just as good. Mind you that buildings are inspected so that they will last much longer than your grow tent will. Too many companies like mh, vs, and vivosun are wasting money on unnecessary manufacturing which is paid by the consumer. It seems Barrina (not a mom and pop shop by any means) has figured out that unless were showing our lights off to our wall street buddies or in mansion as a chandelier, we don't care how it looks to us! Its about what the plants see, and this light has every spectrum. 700+ LEDs used to cost you a grand or two. Now you can get the same results for 10x less than most other light shops. Check the PPFD charts and compare them to lights of similar canopy size. I will update after first harvest. Plus++ this light comes with an albeit limited 3 year warranty. ... show more

    • Not a good light, misleading advertisment and power. there are much better options
Size: 15.36"×15.36"
I have had a few lights over the years, all budget lights. At current I have (3) spider farmer, (2) Vipar Spectra and then this one. I've had others, but these are the ones I use because they work well. Upon opening this advertised 200W light, you can see directly on the power supply the max is 180W at full voltage. So either the power supply is under-rated, or the seller is over rating the light. Both are bad news especially for the price. The light "flickers" at anything under 40%, which is also a bad sign for quality and design. Yes, the way it's designed is great to be able to adjust the light to different angles, but the manufacturer just dropped the ball on this. It could easily be a great product. Using a light meter I tested this compared to a 100W spider farmer light as well as the 240W Vipar Spectra. The PPFD readings confirm how much light the plant would receive at X distance. What I don't see is in what spectrum, but that is neither here or there because of it's poor performance out of the box. (1) 240W Vipar spectra could do the job of 3 of these barrina lights. It's comparable to the Spider farmer light in terms of output. I sent it back, It's not worth it. For $20 more I can have 3X the PPFD with a name brand power supply and LED lights. I eyed this one for months due to it's design and positive reviews, if you are not technical about it at all yes it works, but for the value, it's very poor compared to many other offerings in the same price range. ... show more
