I think the details are too small on the dog and cat you can’t really see it and the face you need to rub with the crayon down and across to get the details to show up. I have bought a few of these recently for gifts. I loved this toy as a child and it’s even better now. It’s very easy to use and my 5 year old can do this independently. The shading crayon holder is great for little kids. My daughter has not stopped playing with hers. We have used it at home and in the car. Super cute and she loves the pattern shading option!

My 8 year old son likes this fashion plate set because it comes with a lot of different people, outfits, and textures on the back of each plate. He also likes the Sports expansion pack. This is a great quiet activity. He has been using this set to make rubbings and then paint over ot with watercolors. The only two things he is annoyed by: -It's not compatible with other fashion plate sets -It doesn't come with a carrying case He would like for this set to have an expansion pack with Ken and 'the little kids' (Chelsea and friends dolls) in the future.
