I got these radios for our divided office environment, mainly for casual banter that didn't warrant a phone call. The sound quality isn't anything to brag about, but for walkie-talkies, it's exactly what you'd expect. I can't speak for the long-term battery life since mine practically lives on the charger, but the few times it hasn't, it's performed quite well. You can tell these aren't high-end radios from the materials; they're not super heavy, and the plastic doesn't feel top of the line. But for the price, they're fantastic.

These little radios exceeded my expectations. I am a HAM radio operator and know what a decent radio quality means. I bought these for my two sons, and myself (along with a lapel speaker/mic) to use while they ride their bikes, and play around the neighborhood. My middle son wants to be a police officer and wants all the gear, so I thought this would be a good addition to his collection. Plus, I can remain in communication with with him. I was surprised, shipping was extremely fast, even in the midst of an ice storm in the southern US. The kids love them. We talk across the house all the time. I even took mine while I ran some errands around town and they were still able to contact me. as a Ham radio operator, I am quite amazed by the quality of these radios. As always, you get what you pay for. But the build quality, and reception and transmission are quite good for the price. I highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!

These radios are meant to be close. after you go further than half a mile good luck. These radios are not that great and for the same price I can get 2 radios that can reach 8 times as far. For small things like a restaurant or school these are perfect but for airsoft or outdoor events they aren't worth it.
