My second one of these. I ran this one a VNA it came back just about centered 1t1.2 on 146.2 and 438.6125 at 10' AGL on a metal mast, which since it's a dual band compromise antenna will work just fine for me. FYI for those interested, it's not a good idea for GMRS/MURS usage because at 465mhz the SWR shoots up to about 1:30 so anything over something like a low 4w HT and your going to stress your finals. But for Amateur radio working repeaters from 10' AGL is should work great. ... show more

    • Just A Handheld Antenna In A Tube With SO-239 Connector
Not what I was expecting. The threads on the SO-239 seem to be cut wrong and you can't screw the PL-259 gets so tight it won't turn, but the connector is not in all the way. I ended up twisting the SO-239 out of the tube which is how I discovered it was just the internal parts of an HT rubber ducky antenna inside the plastic tube. I put it back together and am now using it as a scanner antenna indoors. I will not buy any more of them! ... show more

It's definitely a compromise antenna. Best used as a receive antenna. It has a high swr in the 70 cm band

This is a cheap, no/low gain antenna I bought for its size and price. It is light, cheap and it works. I got it to use with my IC7100 for an outside antenna. I have nothing bad to say about it.

It's not a replacement for a comet or a diamond but it will do in a pinch. I put it up about 20ft in the air and I use it for a bofang radio I purchased off Amazon. If will reach all the local repeaters and I haven't received any blazing reports of blasting into them. But it works fine for what it is. ... show more
