I have always been a huge Bang and Olufsen fan and I have multiple speakers from this brand as well, so I'll just rank it from what I have (including Apple Homepod for perspective) with different aspects: Sound field: A9 4th gen > Beosound Balance > A9 MKI > Beosound stage > HomePod > A6 Bass: Beosound stage > A9 4th gen > A9 MKI > Beosound Balance > A6 = HomePod Mid~high range(piano, vocal, etc) A9 4th gen> Beosound Balance > A9 MKI > A6 > HomePod > Beosound stage Inheriting Bang and Olufsen's excellent design, this speaker, by the appearance itself adds accents to your home decor. I bought the gold version and when I received it, it was slightly different from the picture, showing a really beautiful rose gold tone, similar to the color of the rose gold iPhone (weirdly when I was trying to take a picture of it, the picture shows only gold color :/). I used it mainly on Apple Airplay, and if you have an A6 you would know there's a significant delay after casting your music onto the speaker. Well not on Beosound Balance. The connection was almost instantaneous and I didn't sense any lag or delay from my experience. Sound-wise, I can clearly see the target audience for this speaker. If you love the amazing sound field and clear mid-high range that Beoplay A9 provides but have a smaller room, this is definitely your choice. The bass has a kick to it as well, as a matter of fact when I first hear it, I was surprised that it could produce much detailed yet powerful bass. Unlike the Beosound Stage where the bass just blows you away like a tornado, this music speaker focuses more on how to deliberately show you all details from the lower range. About 60% volume is more than enough for a bedroom, and cranking up the speaker will not have any distortion effects on the sound whatsoever. In conclusion, Beosound Balance is a great speaker, a cheaper(not really) Bang and Olufsen A9 substitute, and a beautifully designed piece of furniture. BTW IF YOU HAVE PETS IN YOUR HOME DO NOT BUY IT BECAUSE THE FABRIC COVER CANNOT BE REPLACED! ... show more

1st Impression: Picture it, you just bought your first house / apartment & you’re now in the market for some new items to fulfill your space. Here is the Beosound Balance! If you’ve seen this in the marble version, it almost feels like it should be in an art gallery. Aside from the exquisite design, the sound is well balanced & evenly distributed around the room. SOUND: Whether you’re spending $100 or $5,000, you want & need a great speaker that will not only give the wow factor to your guests, but will deliver the goods to your living space whenever you need it to. Premium sound should not be considered a “Luxury”. With the Beosound Balance, you have the best of both worlds when it comes to premium sound & elegant styling. Granted, B&O are synonymous with both of these concepts & have been for many, many years. This unit offers 360 sound with a plethora of different speakers jam packed into this one piece. You start off with a single 3/4” tweeter, 4 full range drivers (2 measuring 2” & the other 2 measuring 3”) followed by 2, yes 2 5.25” woofers. All of this totals out to 850 Watts of power. As if one of these isn’t already powerful enough, you have the option to incorporate a 2nd one for a stereo experience. Talk about power!! VALUE: Cost is another imperative factor to take into consideration when purchasing a new speaker. The biggest question you have to ask yourself is “Does this product warrant spending the price advertised??”. For this answer, I’d say yes, though I wish it was just a smidge cheaper. It’s currently listed on here for just over $3,000, which to the average buyer may seem nuts (Understandably at first). Consider this almost like an investment that’ll be in your home for many years. Not to mention, look at all of the power you’re getting in this unit. BUILD QUALITY: Right from the box, you can tell you’re in for a treat. The Beosound Balance is not only an exceptional sounding speaker, but is built with premium materials. B&O takes the time to really ensure that their products meet all that is ahead of them, even if that means the unit sitting on a corner desk for the next 13 years. The Balance comes in a variety of builds. Starting with - “Natural Oak”, which incorporates a nice mixture of sandstone & bronze colors. Next is “Black Oak” - this color code is almost completely “Murdered” out in black. My personal favorite is the “White Marble” - even though this one is a $600 differential from the standard builds, THIS really makes a bold statement. If you get the chance to see it in person, you’ll know what I mean. VOLUME: As stated previously, this is a very capable unit being it’s fitted with 850 Watts of power. Just like with a lot of B&O products, the Balance works best if tied with the B&O app. Here, you have the option to control the volume from either WIFI or Bluetooth. You can also adjust the specific EQ settings to your liking if the preset tones aren’t of your liking (I do this with a lot of speakers - I’m a bit of a perfectionist). Volume can also be controlled on the physical speaker. Everything is on the top of the device & is touch response (Sorry, no more physical buttons). “THE VERDICT”: The jury has come to a verdict. They rank this speaker at a 8.8/10. They have noted that the sophisticated styling & power output are some of the biggest perks to this design. Unfortunately, the price point isn’t as feasible considering the general public typically won’t just randomly walk into a store & spend $3-4k on a speaker. I would have to agree. If the price were just a little bit lower, I think B&O could reach an even bigger audience. Overall, a great speaker & great design (As expected).     • Awesome powerful sound

I own their Beloit 15 and this home speaker is just leagues over with precision, spacious and powerful sound. Out the box I’ll admit it may sound a bit like it’s lacking but once you change the sound profile in the app it can truly become a serious audiophile experience. It’s enveloping and precise do not expect boomy bass or over emphasized bass when you turn the bass up a couple notches. It’s becomes robust and controlled with its 850watts it’s a serious powerhouse. I would say the bigger the room the more you can really enjoy it at higher volumes. One thing is do get the Bang and Olufsen app first when setting up it will connect to your WiFi first then you can connect devices via Bluetooth. Once it’s set up make sure to connect via Bluetooth for best experience. It also has a loudness button in the app which can be turned on to enhance bass at lower volumes but it is hidden in the menu along with the 2 tone treble and bass controls. Overall love the product and it is even has an aux in so I can connect my old Sony discman to listen to cds. Super awesome :) ... show more
